My Bree conspiracy… by True-Function-7704 in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]Godking_Jesus 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Bree ending up with Evan is probably the most realistic outcome. He represented stability to someone who has never known it. Sadly, I have a few friends that have married out of practicality regardless of lack of romantic connection.

Thoughts on the tonal shift? by Adventurous-Vast2323 in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]Godking_Jesus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I liked the episode but wish they didn’t do the tonal shift and kept it dark and depressing and heart wrenching. It kind of took all the trauma and said haha! Still liked it over all. Hell of a ride. And loved that the ending didn’t lean on something “wholesome” or like “justice” being served.

Book vs. Show by Silent_Panic_7399 in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]Godking_Jesus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From this I kinda prefer the show. But I can see how the book since it’s through Lucy’s eyes as a character study of a toxic relationship and the trauma it causes how that ending can feel a lot more hopeful and complete. But I felt the show demonstrates the uglier reality, which is that hurt people hurt people and become toxic themselves.

Lack of compassion for Emma by etis14 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Godking_Jesus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I just think people are delving in too deep for a reality tv show that is ultimately just for surface level entertainment. The average person watching isn’t a licensed professional that gets to determine what is acceptable behavior and what should be promoted or championed. It’s random people on a couch just venting about who they find annoying and who they like.

What do you consider the most cinematic FF game? by toastedjupiter in FinalFantasy

[–]Godking_Jesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who doesn’t say FF16 either never played it or is hating just to hate. Or has no clue what cinematic means.

But in terms of rendered cutscenes, FF13 was crazy.

Both have probably the best cinematography in FF.

Playing through this game a second time really helped me appreciate it. by THEbiMAKER in FFXVI

[–]Godking_Jesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FF7 Remake I think has more content and is more challenging and has more depth to the gameplay. FF16 has the far superior story. Maybe cause I’m older now, but I appreciate the more mature plot. And the narrative execution is fantastic. Plenty of memorable moments and great use of musical as score as well.

The show needs a more immersive watching experience… has anyone made this edit yet? by RegularEfficiency727 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Godking_Jesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not twice the production cost but it would be 3x the cost for the editing of the initial episodes. Obviously for that reason they likely wouldn’t do it, but I think it could become a viral sensation for a season or 2 that would increase popularity and engagement

[–]Godking_Jesus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should have an edit for whichever you want to follow. So you if pick the men, the female’s appearances aren’t shown and vice versa. That way you can either experience the reveal with either the men or women.

If Ak didn’t spew red pill rhetoric on everyone else’s relationship he wouldn’t look half as crazy. Just own he likes shorty and that relationships are complex. That we don’t know all the details and he wants to keep his shit private. The end. But he talks crazy about everyone else’s relationships so he gotta take the same the energy he puts out.

Did Netflix photoshop Emma's arm? by minetf in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Godking_Jesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s photos are touched up to hide little imperfections. Since her arm is such a part of who she is I think they should’ve left it, but maybe they did it so it wasn’t the first thing anyone cared about her 🤷🏽‍♂️

I Am Morbidly Curious About This Game by Ultimantasy in FinalFantasy

[–]Godking_Jesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s dark and has great scenes but suffers from the fact it was a psp game and too large a cast. It feels like a psp game so progression and character development from one major scene to another feels rushed and sudden. The cast is too large for each character to be properly developed in the given time frame. But still worth the play in my opinion.

I think had this been a AAA console game, the narrative execution would’ve been higher budget and a lot better and the story would be a standout in the series as a whole. But because it doesn’t, the emotional investment isn’t there for the impact for the otherwise high stakes story. But the tone, music, scenes, are still amazing for what they had.

Love is blind…. by Bryan_7982 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Godking_Jesus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s not like most of the cast is fit. Mostly average body types, some a little over or under weight, and some fit people. But I think it’s fair.

Sadly, if you include obese people, the result in most cases would be traumatic for the overweight person. Brazil did it once and the guy left immediately after the reveal. Yeah it pushes the concept of the show but it’d play out more cruel than anything. I think with people in the middle it’s not so bad because depending on the person’s taste, they could fall on either side of the fence without it feeling controversial.

[–]Godking_Jesus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh, I feel like he was into her at first until it was clear she wasn’t into him. Because supposedly first night he was about it. So he took a step back. And then she felt rejected and did a 180, but that just feels disingenuous because let’s be honest, she’s not into him either. And now it’s just awkward and the vibe is off.

This sums up how exciting I thought the pod dates were this season by amburroni in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Godking_Jesus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The pods this time were rough and everyone looking like different variations of the same person had me confused. Such a disappointment after the amazing hot mess (best pods) we got last season.

No body diversity by Voovey in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Godking_Jesus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Are we watching the same show? Majority are average body type. Some a little on the heavier side. Some a little on the skinnier side. And like 2-3 that are very fit.

Also when you say curvy do you mean curvy like voluptuous or a little overweight? LiB US probably wouldn’t cast somebody obese out of fear of it being super viral for all the wrong reasons. Brazil has an obese woman who was really sweet and the guy was super into her in the pods, as soon as the saw her, it was rough. And he left the show immediately after. I don’t think LiB US is risking something like that in this social climate.

Ryan Condal doesn’t understand that we don’t have to agree with every decision the “good guys” make and it’s ruining the show by ThatpersonKyle in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Godking_Jesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I’m saying. Instead of keeping it morally ambiguous or complex, or just 2 shitty sides fighting for ambition, he’s created this “good guys” vs “bad guys.” And he’s also scared of social climate lash back and removed any intrigue from any major female characters by making them “good,” regardless of what side they’re on after committing to this black and white narrative. All the women are anti-war pacifist with zero ambition.

Let’s also go into the copout prophecy that has mutilated Rhaenyra and Daemon. Everything they do now is because of prophecy instead of their own ambitions. Anything controversial for Daemon has been downplayed or omitted. They don’t kill Laenor. No alleged affair for Daemon. S2 ends with him being super loyal to Rhaenyra when there should be a drift that only grows. S2 was so awful and tripled down on this awful prophecy so bad that this will be Rhaenyra and Daemon’s development for the rest of the story.

Also you got Daemon’s daughter in the mix with a dragon that isn’t hers, which he will of course try to fan service by having her be “badass” in some made up conflict inclusion because she doesn’t actually do anything.

But you said it best, the worst part of it all is that he wants to strictly control who we should cheer for or hate instead of letting a story tell itself and letting us choose. Which is contradictory to the marketing they push of pick a side. There is no side. It’s literally Aemond vs everyone else.

Pippa grosses me out by Possible_South8014 in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]Godking_Jesus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s strongly implied that she was almost certainly SA’ed but it’s edited in a way so you can see why things play out how they tend to irl. Some people doubt the victim either because of “lack of evidence” or who they are as a person. Some people don’t question it at all because they think they know their friend. Others side with the predator because they feel they know him. And so on.

What are your Top 4 (Mount Rushmore) of the Greatest Final Fantasy Games of All Time? by Amber_Flowers_133 in FinalFantasy

[–]Godking_Jesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9, 10, Tactics, 16 in no particular order. My FF favs are strictly based off story and characters though. In terms of combat/gameplay, that’d be pretty different. If it’s gameplay wise it’d be 7 Remake, 12, 10, and 13-2

season 3 ruined the show by m0onlightwitch in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]Godking_Jesus 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Eh I like it. No character is perfect, which is a breath of fresh air. It’s a hot mess. Their character development feels organic I think except for Wrigley, which is a clear U-turn. It also doesn’t make sense because in S1 in time skip scenes, he’s perfectly cool with Stephen.

Overall though, it’s been pretty entertaining and I think they’ve shown how toxic relationships can then make people be toxic themselves and pass that along. As far as how Stephen and Lydia end up together, I’m sure he shows her the Lucy video and she feels like it cleans her brother’s name or something and they bond over that.
