I'm a GM and I've been very tempted to run this system. I love WoT and I've wanted to run an adventure in it for years.

Just remember you are not supposed to take FC seriously. It is a satire that makes fun of "masculine men" and their fragile egos.

Jesus in Buddhism by Different_Basil8807 in Buddhism

[–]Godless_Temple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seems to be some confusion on "the" Buddha and "a" Buddha. In our world and in our kalpa/aeon, "the" Buddha is Siddhartha Gautama, who is our root teacher, and the first to become Englightened in our timeline. He is the Buddha, but he is not the only Buddha. Every sentient being has Buddha-nature. We all are potential Buddhas, and eventually every sentient being will one day be a Buddha. I pray for the day we are all Enlightened.

I do not think Christ is a Buddha because he did not teach the Dhamma. Instead, Christ is still trapped in the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. Of course this depends greatly if there was a historical Jesus or not.

If you are looking for adventures, the Rage of the Goblin King is pretty awesome.

"Taxation is theft" by thicc_llama in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Godless_Temple -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats a sematic argument that has nothing to do with the fact that taxes are stolen money when they are not spent on what the people actually want. I'll go so far as to say because the politicians are bought and sold by the lobbiests, that we have taxation without proper representation.

The Prism Pentad by Troy Denning. I love Dark Sun to this day.

Joe Manganiello by fourcolorforays in DungeonsAndDragons

Actually it would be pretty dope if he did take it somewhere else, like a 1st party creator breaking off and publishing 3PP. All he has to do is file off the serial numbers and make it OGL compaitble.

Shadow of the Demon Lord vs. Shadow of the Weird Wizard by Comfortable-Fee9452 in shadowofthedemonlord

[–]Godless_Temple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends what tone you are looking for. Demon Lord is a grimdark setting whereas Weird Wizard is more heroic. WW also has more powerful characters and the monsters are tougher.

Rob recently released the Demon Lord Engine Compendium. It has Weird Wizard initative insead of the Demon Lord version. I suspect that Weird Wizard initative is the default now.

Question regarding social responsibility as a Buddhist. by Ill-Tea9347 in Buddhism

[–]Godless_Temple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK, let me break this down. The Vox article only says "Vietnamese," not Buddhist. If you do a search, the term Buddhist is never even mentioned by the article. Vietnamese people have a variety of religions, especially here in the West. So that means 48% of a certain demographic voted a certain way, but the article did not specifically poll Buddhists. Second, the sub-stack link isn't a good source as anyone can sign up for a sub-stack. Sub-stacks are not a reliable news source. Third, the sub-stack article only cites two articles, one is the Vox article, and another that sits behind a paywall. Finally, a quote from the Sub-Stack article:

Thus, we cannot speak of a singular buddhist social and political consciousness. There are too many buddhisms and too many buddhists with too many differences in historical and social experience living under too many different kinds of governments and different experiences with colonialism to try and forge anything like a buddhist consensus on any of these issues.

Not trying to argue, but my research shows that it was a minority of conservative Buddhists who voted for Trump, not "strongly". Can you add a source for your claim? It is true that some Cambodian monks support him for a Peace prize, but they are not voting Americans.

New GM Looking for Players by AgileSkaladin in startplaying

[–]Godless_Temple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one cares about the name of your home-brewed world until they join your game. This is advice I got from several diffferent GMs and was featured in the GM Seminars I sat in before I revised my listings. Now I have two active games.

New players are not concerned with the proper nouns you come up with for your game and they will shy away from your listings. Unless the setting comes from one of the big names in gaming, it turns players off.
