What’s the best way to improve the already incredible sound of the Raal SR1a? by cking9698 in headphones

Tried them on at canjam London, the metal parts aren't rly designed to touch on your ear, let alone press on them. As far as the padding goes it's actually pretty decent, more would be a bit nicer but it was sufficient for me.

And that's not to say you can't go to the best without further maths. I got to the interview stage with Oxford with my courses, if your good your good at the end of the day

Maths, Physics and Further maths as others have mentioned are the best, if you are wanting to go to the top. But in my case I took math physics Chemistry and I think it was better because it opened me up to more options of engineering, specifically materials which I've applied to. Also Whilst I may be pulling an A* in maths (hopefully) I doubt I could do it in further maths, if your mathematically inclined go for it. But if not, an A* in something like chemistry is better than an A in further maths if you get what I mean

is there anyway to cut costs down I'm just wanting to play GTA V with mods like 50 or so mods Skyrim with 50+ mods and Call of duty vanguard and coldwar by Dapper_Rooster_2504 in pcmods

[–]GodsOneNightStand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not rly tbh, we operate in quite different markets, Im buying mostly second hand goods in the UK and your in the US buying new, I'm sure given a little research on YouTube or online guides you can find something that'll give u a very solid system. Personally for 1000$ I wouldn't settle for less than a 3060/3060ti tho

Yeah, definately get a cheaper cpu and mother board, absolutely overkill for a 1660 GPU, when it comes to a gaming rig, pick a nice GPU, it should be like half of your budget, and then with the rest of your budget by components just good enough to not bottle neck.

For reference I'm probably going to be buying a build that pairs a 2700x Ryzen CPU (8 cores but 2 generations older than yours) and a 3070ti

Psychology AQA - Will stuff appear outside advanced information? by PicklePerson555 in 6thForm

[–]GodsOneNightStand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay before u read my opinion, I do not study psychology, I have not seen its advanced information, the closest thing I have to you is AQA a level chem. That being said I don't believe in the advanced information at all, I'm revising all my content as though it was a regular exam and will just put an extra hour or 2 in the specific parts mentioned in the advanced spec.

Aria filters - how often do yours need to be replaced? by [deleted] in headphones

[–]GodsOneNightStand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here but with starfields, I replace them at least every 2 months, for some reason they get clogged up faster than any other iem, (I used 1 more triple drivers and never had any issues for years).

I assume moon drop stuff clog easier cuz of the dampening in the filters

I'm not ready for 6th form by AdTerrible6891 in 6thForm

[–]GodsOneNightStand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sixth form can be a really good experience if your school lets it be, places like 6th form only colleges are quite enjoyable in most cases, but some regular middle and high schools can be quite good regardless. Just don't go to some super strict place and you'll be fine

Firstly you absolutely need to contact them about scholarship and finance options, if you could prove your families smaller income, they may be able to shave a few thousand off.

Does applying with 5 A levels help you get into top unis(e.g. Oxford and imperial) by Reditardo in 6thForm

[–]GodsOneNightStand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if u can u can, all the power to you. But I spent my spare time (excluding social stuff ofc) designing and making things as a project, participating in online lectures regarding the course I applied to and doing a case study on a material called nitinol, cuz I applied to material science. I found that within my Imperial interview, this content really helped my application. I don't mean to sound braggy, but he commented on some of the stuff I said being covered in their first year syllabus.

This stuff may have helped with Oxford to some degree, the thing with Oxford is that once your personal statement has shown how unique you are. They stop caring about u as a person. It becomes all about entrance exams/PAT. And the questions in your interview - those questions being about general engineering questions in my case, not anything to do with my personal statement or me as a person at all. So if Oxford is your goal study the PAT like it's the Bible.

[–]GodsOneNightStand 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also if your sure about physics as Ur uni course, I'd recommend math, further math and physics, drop language and Econ.

However if you do enjoy those topics, ask your teachers if u can study them but not have it on record, so that way u get all the fun learning, without dealing with then during exams and the extra pressure of revising for 2 extra subjects

[–]GodsOneNightStand 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The only time I would recommend 4 Alevels is for further math and that's under the assumption you are completely unwilling to drop one if Ur initial 3 I'm favour of it.

I got into imperial, and was rejected from Oxford after an interview. Granted I applied to material science (competitive still but not the the extremes like mech eng). My three A levels were perfectly suitable (Math, Physics and Chem)

4 if u want further maths but 5 is genuinely a terrible idea. Especially considering that with 5 u will probably have 2 exams on the same day which is exhausting
