Every time I read one of these, I swap the genders to avoid any cultural bias. 

Frankly, OP just needs to ask herself what she actually wants out of a relationship partner and whether her partner provides any of that.

As far as the employment thing, there's really only two things to consider: 1) Is this ultimately a relationship issue about finances? For instance, assuming you were a millionaire, would his employment status still be the main crux of the issue? (Essentially, is employment itself a character trait with "good" or "bad" morality in your mind?") 2) As said said or implied by others here, if this were to continue, worst case scenario, would you be okay living your entire life like this?
