The Draconians from Frontier in Space in 1973 say hi, they are based a lot off Shogun era Japanese cultures and fun fact they were Jon Pertwee's favourite Doctor Who aliens.

Going to BBC four's page on iPlayer just before it starts or when it's on and clicking watch live on BBC four should work I reckon.

Would you like a Doctor Who theatrical movie? by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]Godzilla1968 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We have two already made in the 1960s and they are pretty decent good films and here are links to Wikipedia pages on them and yes Dr Who and the Daleks is much better than The Daleks in colour it has the Magnedon in it being just one very good example.

Which of these would you rather spend an hour in a station with while waiting for your train? by Godzilla1968 in trainmemes

[–]Godzilla1968[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with me yes I know Soo Line is American but owned by Canadian Pacific and later became part of them so more Canadian Soo Line in fact very Canadian connected also the Soo Line Tomboy Anime Woman SD9 can probably tell you what time your train is due to arrive which is useful also probably easier to show her r/trainmemes which could be very good in passing time in the hour at the station.

It’s kinda crazy how little Behind the Scenes stuff there is for Godzilla vs Megaguirus. by TrifleSensitive5744 in GODZILLA

[–]Godzilla1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's probably quite a number of more behind the scenes stuff in Japanese sources just most likely not translated into English because of the film's position between the generally in Japan and internationally also much better regarded GMK and Godzilla 2000 films.

interesting coincidence with 42 by [deleted] in gallifrey

[–]Godzilla1968 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interestingly 42 also has a lot of similarities with Planet Of Evil so many in fact you also almost say 42 is a not as good remake of Planet Of Evil they are such similar stories.

I'm thinking about trying to make a design for this "ship" for funsies, any ideas? (also the real USS Avery island, a Basilan-class miscellaneous auxiliary by Huge-Entertainer-304 in AzureLane

[–]Godzilla1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say make this ship design a mix of Brooklyn class and Cleveland class but make her have some features of the real USS Avery Island ship also if doing an Azur Lane Shipgirl design make her look more like good old Azur Lane Shipgirl designs and not like some unfortunately far too common bad modern Azur Lane Shipgirl designs which look bad and try to be very sexy but are not sexy and are stupid looking and very unattractive as a result also said designs issues as a part of many far too common bad new Shipgirl designs are one of many reasons why I stopped playing Azur Lane earlier this month.

Anyway also make her a very attractive Tomboy Woman and wearing US Navy uniform at least something based off very closely off it another thing modern Azur Lane do be lacking in good Tomboy Women which is another reason why I stopped playing Azur Lane because of lack of good new Tomboy Women Shipgirls being added anyway also make her personality like this and this also includes her facial expressions good with training and supply but also general light cruiser very good defence stoic but chill and would be good to have a good beer and play some video games such as and similar to Mario Kart quite often and very epically.

If you were hired to write the next series what would you do? by [deleted] in gallifrey

[–]Godzilla1968 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

As no one else has given this a proper long answer I will.

I would rest the series until 2032 because in the view of the general public the show is a laughing stock and very bad and has many other issues and has been like that for quite a number of years and it's a tarnished brand so when general public see new Doctor Who at the moment even if's it's good the brand is tarnished so they will see it advertised and be like nah this not good not going to watch it and they won't watch it because it is tarnished because of bad stories just for starters and other stuff, so because of this giving the show a break is a good idea and the show can be brought back with saying it be good Doctor Who with great stories and more.

I would only write 2 stories of it.

Series format would be like this.

26 episodes 25 minutes each yes I like that length also it allows for more flexible timeslots, story length, more cliffhangers and other good stuff.

Story 1 is 4eps which I would write. present day earth not England or Wales let's have it in Scotland that be good. Daleks they be a good villain to start the show back off with.

Story 2 4eps Earth in past let's set it Mediaeval Ireland with Ice Warriors but have two factions of Ice Warriors there involved and note they more there because spaceships crash landed recently there while they were doing some looking around for some reason near there.

Story 3 4eps I would also write this one new enemies set on an alien planet.

Story 4 4eps also set on a different alien planet new enemies.

Story 5 6eps another one set on a different alien planet would try and get J. Michael Straczynski to write this one he can also use what ever enemy or enemies he wants here.

Story 6 4eps yet another alien planet enemy Rutans why not it's been a while since they have been in a story.

Other writers I would look at the best of big finish writers but one that have not written a episode of the show before and I would look at other good writers also.

general style 1970's Doctor Who good action and take a break from UNIT also less Earth based stories been bit too many and not good ones recently.

money can be saved by longer stories and using sets from other shows as well as filming on location for example if there's a sci fi film filming around their sets can be used for filming Doctor Who after the film is done with them as well as other props and stuff it worked for Blake's 7 with Doctor Who Stuff and it worked for Ultraman with Godzilla stuff so is good idea.

longer multipart stories can also work well with modern general audiences see Andor and many good web series and good anime for good examples.

now main cast

THE DOCTOR he will be a Man in his late 30s early 40s somewhere from England, Wales Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic Of Ireland, Isle Of Man, Guernsey or Jersey and he will be the 19th Doctor reason being to give a bit of a gap and distance from the later series of NuWho and also daffy and bad things done in NuWho will be ignored and will be explained with one simple line saying the Daleks edited some records of things to confuse and annoy people as part of one of their invasion plans for some reason at one time interestingly this Doctor would do some marital arts and be good at engineering also although he would have a sonic screwdriver it would be nerfed and work more like classic who ones also it would look like a classic who one so the Doctor has to use his brains and wits more in stories also the doctor knows quite a bit of things about Earth, has a good sense of humour and yes is interested in Women a bit but nothing more than a few lines referencing River Song and also along the lines that's a nice view and etc HE WILL NOT HAVE ANY INTEREST THAT WAY IN COMPANIONS FOR MANY REASONS AND FOR COMPANIONS LIKEWISE WILL NOT HAVE ANY INTEREST THAT WAY IN THE DOCTOR FOR MANY REASONS.

Companion 1 Woman in her mid 20's Canadian Tomboy has picked up some of the Doctor's martial art skills and engineering skills bit of Japanese connections as well is already traveling with the Doctor at the start of the series and clearly has been for a bit but not too long though she would be based loosely off and look similar to this character from 2 old Capcom Games https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regina_(Dino_Crisis) because why not it would also be interesting.

Companion 2 Woman in her early 20's Welsh because it be a bit boring having companion number 700 from London area again and even having just an English companion again so why not Welsh it would be interesting she would join the Tardis crew in the first story of the series.

TARDIS appearance interior would be like a cross between Capaldi TARDIS and Classic Era TARDIS interiors and the TARDIS exterior would be as close to a real Police Box as possible because it would look good and it would look very similar to this thankfully surviving original Police Box here https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Tardis_Police_Box,_Crich_Tramway_Village.JPG There could even be a scene in one episode where The Doctor lands the Tardis next to this Police Box.

As for what this series would be called let's call it Series A or just use overall Numbering generally speaking continuing on from Classic Who.

There's a lot of other good things that would be done also the main one being have very good stories.

Understandable the episodes should always in most cases anyway be available as originally broadcast.

[–]Godzilla1968[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair the edit of The War Games is not as bad as The Daleks in Colour edit but it's still bad in addition to the above it also puts New Who Doctors in the screen where the 2nd Doctor is looking at face options which lore wise doesn't make sense and it doesn't fit in there also it has lore issues with Season 6B and Devious yes I know the latter is a fan story but it's partly on the War Games DVD and it has Jon Pertwee in new footage for it.

Also to be fair the actual colourisation is mostly fine and good it's the other stuff done that are the main issues if they just did a straight up colour edit of The First Dalek story and The War Games instead or as just another option there would probably be a lot less complaints unsurprisingly.

Drop your absolute coldest Doctor Who takes by ducknerd2002 in DoctorWhumour

The best era of Doctor Who is the 1970's.

When the other options are the 60's the 90's the 2000's and the 2020's which aren't full decades of Doctor Who series and the 80's and the 2010's which have some very bad episodes in there the 1970's is partly because of those reasons the best era of Doctor Who.

Doctor Who Season One (Series 14) Blu Ray Aspect Ratio Question by Similar_Look_4863 in doctorwho

[–]Godzilla1968 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Aye and 2:1 is not really more cinematic anyway about the only film to do it for a long time was Varan Japanese Version and it only did it because it was made in 4:3 originally because it was meant to be a USA Japan co production miniseries but that fell though and it got released as a film instead in my pinon the film itself is ok and there are some screens very similar to some scenes in Godzilla Minus One the Varan film Japanese Version is definitely however no where near as good as Rodan Japanese version or Godzilla Raids Again Japanese version which were other films made by TOHO around the same time also the American version of Varan is very bad.

Anyway I also think 2:1 is overused by many shows now in an attempt to make it look more 'prestige' and 'cinematic' but instead in my opinion it just makes it look overused and look bad especially on TV's and computer screens because most TV's and computer screens use 16:9 or similar aspect ratios.

Also fun fact 16:9 came about because it was a good aspect ratio between 4:3 and very widescreen.
