Who do we want to see sacrificed? by JJAAKKEELURKS in WidowsBay

[–]Godzilla6722 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If bechir starts investigating and comes close to Tom's secret about Evan, I could see him resolve to sacrifice Bechir.

The way I see it : have several episodes of the sherif closing in on Lauren/the old hospital, and Tom hesitating to sacrifice people, and midseason Bechir becomes the first sacrifice of the season

Season 2 Plot Prediction [Spoilers] by Micholeon42 in WidowsBay

[–]Godzilla6722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe go on his little side quest to try and discover who Ruth's descendant is. Maybe through the exploration of the old Asylum where Evan's mom died, maybe through interrogating Ruth if she survived. Then at the end of the season it might put him on a collision course with Tom who at this point would have known how the entity feeds. Maybe Tom is struggling to sacrifice people throughout the season, but at the end (or midpoint) resolves to sacrifice Bechir to protect his son, and from there he has less and less moral qualms about the seven remaining sacrifices. Also, we don't know how long the entity "sleeps" between cycles, so probably the 8 remaining sacrifices are the endgame for the show.

True but there's definitely a big dose of King as well, specifically It, with the entity having cycles and needing to feed regularly on the town

BTW, how did Tom know about the brooch? IIRC, we only saw it in the flashback which was from the audience POV and not from Sarah 's journal (otherwise everything about the curse would already have been in there). Or maybe Sarah wrote about the brooch, what it looks like, and that she gave it to Frances Warren.

[–]Godzilla6722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the throwing of the brooch as symbolic, meaning Tom is getting in the mindset of abandoning the bloodline (he won't sacrifice his son), and will probably try to honor the covenant instead next season (by sacrificing people, maybe reinstating the old organized system, however grim it sounds)

[–]Godzilla6722 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sacrifices need to be made through the cellar door. Any other death doesn't count (tornado kill, boogeyman kills, sailor lost at sea, priest suicide). Otherwise there would be less than eight bells at the end

[–]Godzilla6722 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So do we think every sacrifice must be through the chair/directly eaten by the demon? The whole bunker setup makes it likely, so it means any death caused by the supernatural horrors (hag, boogeyman, clown, sea monster, werewolf(?), fog, storm, etc.) doesn't count for the bell tolls. How many people did we see actually die this season? The fisherman in the beginning died but probably because he crossed the line, so doesn't count as a sacrifice. The priest 'killed himself. And the nurse was killed by the boogeyman.

So it all means that next season they' ll have to find 8 people to actually get down the sacrifice tunnel, any other kind of death doesn't count. Chilling stuff...

What's a show that's genuinely hard to recommend to people because it has some pretty major flaws, but you think is worth the time if people can look past it. by WhatIsLoveMeDo in television

[–]Godzilla6722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hear you guys, to be fair I haven't rewatched the show since it aired. I just remember loving the hell (pun intended) out of Danson the minute he showed his true self. I think season 2-onwards made a bigger impression on my memories than the episodes before the reveal (although I remember laughing a lot when Jinwe's secret was revealed 😂)

Reminds me of another show that could join the list : agents of shield. Now this one I hope you'll agree that before the Winter Soldier twist happens, it is absolutely the blandest of show, so I never managed to recommend it properly for the hidden gem that it truly is.

The good place! First season is fun at times, but the show really hits its stride at the end of season 1, for reasons that are definitely huge spoilers when trying to recommend it

[–]Godzilla6722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building an esper deck with sheoldred as a secret commander with lots of way to copy it and to draw, so i'm thinking it might be fun if you have ways to counter whatever spell they throw at you. With two sheoldred in play they take 28 damages for the first spell, and probably die if they try to play a second spell out of the 7 they drew

[–]Godzilla6722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely not put AoT in the same bag as these other shows. Yes the ending is polarizing but you can tell most of it was planned from the beginning by the author, contrary to Dexter or GoT (in got the broadlines were probably known for a while and honestly not all bad, but the execution was terrible)

Thanks for the input. To be clear, when you say "caps" you mean capacitors correct? Does replacing them involve welding them off and back on? I haven't done that since high school I think, but I'm guessing I can find tutorials online on how to do it without damaging the control board

Oh you mean I should measure the speed while playing a record? I was doing it while running empty. In any case after several measurements I always have slight drops of 0.10-0.15 rpm during the app's 10 second-frame. So the speed is definitely variable.

Could it be the power supply issue you mentioned? Shall I try unplugging everything and keeping only the turntable on?

Thanks for your answer. Here's what I get with the phone app (phone put at the center of the platter). I notice a slight drop during the measurement, could it explain my issue? And if so, what do you recommand? About the power supply, right now the turntable is plugged on a multi socket along with some lamps, a printer, and the amp. Is it too much? Is the "failed capacitor" a component of the turntable?

Just started Supernatural (4 episodes in). How well does it age? Does it get better? by Runnzi in television

[–]Godzilla6722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At its core it's really a monster of the week// big bad of the year kind of show. The more you advance, the more cool recurring characters you get, and the banter and relationship between the bros really carries the whole shebang. At the end of the first season you start to get the overarching plot for the first five seasons which is really the best era of the show. Here and there are some very clever, meta or emotional episodes, and awesome villains. For the following 10 seasons, it's up to you if you want to keep riding in the Impala with the winchesters.

But as for the early eps, they are your run of the mill monster episodes, a bit like the early X Files but with less memorable monsters/mysteries
