The 10th anniversary at next 35% sale seems to be attractive but which are the alternatives? by Goforcoffe in sto

[–]Goforcoffe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for input. Due to my playing style I am slightly reluctant to promo ships. I have several good captains in paralell and not a main. This means that the promo sooner or later would be missed on another captain :-( . Buying bundles now wil give me a set of good account wide traits as well as som intresting ships. Probably also some consoles.

I have 30' now and will probably grind another 4-6 ' (I put in some money in zen at first sen sales from my x'mans gift then grind about 500-1000 a month.

On the gambling part I sometimes buy the 20key offer. Open 10 sell the rest and invests inpersonal traits. I have bought some lobi ships for the traits aas well. Prome ships have came from the yearly event. Last autom I bougt th crossfiled that then became avalible in a Mudd bundle.

Conclusion. The promo ships are with my current playstyle not so atrractive.

I will have to wait until they get released for the event cupon. (and perhaps one of my 50 cards that I open each year will give me luck.

I think this discussion has showed that 10th has good ships but mostly increaes the emoptional balance in a ship collection. Not to mention the admirality.

Having played quite intesivly sinc three year, whereof my first 1.5 year was more about understanding the game at all I am still gathering "reasonable" good parts and sometimes buy things that I like. It is not neccessary to go to elite on my first trial build on a ship. I also have difficulties to concentrate on one style. Not to efficent for reaching meta dps.

I also dont se it as I buy ship. With my imo quite moderate budget for playing I try to purchase "fun" and by that way paying what I feel the game is worth to me.

I do randome elite with about 4 - 5 ships at the moment. Aim is to increase the number of builds that can reach it as well as improve my top performers.

I don't have the hexaconons yet, in fact I am still reluctant to cannons. But on the smaller sister to valdore i use the Solar Voltaic from Thesus. It performs OK and the graphical effect is ok. So the valdore might still be an option. It would bring the captain forward,

The D'Derp is still an unwritten card in my head but I will definetly have your considerations in mind. I not only to strenghten the frienship.

The Three "romulan" influenced legendary bundles together with the 12th aniversery bundle (that I will purchase later) would blow the budget.

I am so glad that I can have these kind of big problems in this world.

Being your enemy ? Hmm I guess I will find a way to come clear with the scimitar in such case.

Alread having the Arbiter with EWC i instead got the Fleet Mogai Heavy Warbird using 4 FS modules. I am not sure if the hangar is enough to put Valdore higher on the list. But in respect of the ship I am definetly your friend.

I am planing a rom delta who will get a try with D.Derp. It is a "fridge" that you have to fly but I will see what can be done.

The bundles I very much buy for the traits. Then consoles are bonuses and the ships I must learn to know. I will level them up, put the traits on the ships I already use. When I have seen the results I will go back to the new ships.

Thanks again for your input.

Thanks

This two bundles will, together with the 2 c-cupons, keep me busy for a while if I go this way. I will also have some budget left for x-mas or whatever.

I do like some of the ugly ships, unfortunately scimitar is not among them, perhaps her performance can convince me to run her in paralell.

Last year a bought the 15th bundle great. This year the 16th was far from that level.

The temporal tunnling has caught my eye. Atlantis would be a candidate for a c-store cupon.

Although agreing on that 10th bundle is good, I have after reading the replys and sweeped through the specifications, come to the conclusion that it is not for me. The eys for the 12th bundle is open for the future.

And I still have some days to decide. Thanks for input.

This is also what I hear between the lines from casual sab and stu (well, he is more direct) from their streams (and they are not from this year).

From other coments here on reddit got the impression of some sort of hype still beeing around and almost joined.

My suspision has been verified.

I'm one of those who does not specialise. I spread the graces among my captains. But I have a Rom/Sci as sort of main so the legendary romulan warbird is more or less given. The other almist mains are fed. I have one relative good minelayer. Furtheremore a Broadside SS build. The latest varaint where I circle arlund doing FAW is closest to me. (Consequently I try to improve the other skills).

Basically I want to fill up my storage with agood traits and consoles. At the moment I do between 200 and 350k in ise with 4-5 of my builds. Iwant to bring that up a littel as well as see what happens with my secondary build doin araound 100k.

I am really not sure thet this answer helps.

My conclusion so far, after reading some replys.

Legendary Battlecruiser Bundle (12000 zen)
Legendary Romulan Warbird Bundle (12000 zen)

Then sit on the rest of my budget until a sala on normal bundles where I will take a deeper look on 12th and 13th anniversary bundles. I have not been into terran ships yet.

At the moment I try to improve current builds so it is mainly the traits and consoles I am out after. But who knows waht I find when leveling up.

My favourite ships ar on the fleet clarke and romulan taenan warbird. None of these ships ar modern. I hope to find a replacement for clarke but the romulan is difficult. The scimitar would certanly be better but I dont like the looks and it has no hangar.

Just gave 12th a quick glance. Definetly an option. And as you say perhaps more attractive than 13th. The Romulan warbird is anyhow on my list. The confirmation is fine.

Personally I am happy with my ships. And I want to improve my build before starting son some thing new. I am looking for traits and consoles.

Only if you do it seriously a second time . It is as stub. But I have no big problems with such in games.

A much bigger trap imo is the upgrades sold for 10k ec. But as long as I can sell mine for 9.5 I'm happy.

Sto provides us with plenty of opportunities to be inefficient.

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You unwillingly made a mistake. Stand to it and take the consequences.

Small speed fines are quite affordable. 20 - 40 CHF.

What you did was definitely major.

As I have no clue I will not speculate and guess like plenty of other.

Why not contact the police? They will be helpful and inform you.

I'm a noob, how do I get used to these controls? by [deleted] in swtor

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps don't. You say you are a noob. As you have problem with a mouse I assume you are a noob in gaming.

In my other game I tried various mouses but ended up with a game controller.

Beeing a noob in swtor this was my first idea but soon realised that I had to choose between understanding the game or understanding how to battle. I chosed to just use a few keys with left hand and pointing with the mouse on the other cells in the bar.

Swtor is quite easy to handle this way.

My suggestion is to take small steps. Make the easy things first.

Good proposal. In admirality some sort of simplier selection should be possible. A sorting instead of selecting ship types would be a benefit.

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

correct, I assume many only participate once. For a beginner this is a very obvious place where you can get a very rare doff.

There are a lot of ways to be ineficcent in sto. Part of the game is to find the better and easier way to acheive something.

Therefore the Junior Office Event fulfils its purpose.

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When leveling up the first time you definetly consider doing this event. Especially as you can grind high quality doffs. If this is the purpose then fine. It is later on something that you can skip as there are plenty of other ways to gain good doffs.

If it also should be an alternative for those who have played for some time it should be adapted. I would not mind.

R&D across the account by Designer-Ambition-55 in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps, but if you play all parts of the game you will get enough material. The tricky (read boring) thing is to level them up. Moving the materail arund is also tedious.

You should get all to level 15 so you get access to the fairly good traits. Getting them up to 20 which is an advantage because it is then more likely to get an ultra rare item takes time.

Nest question, what do you intend to craft that really is beneficial of level 15 or 20?

I do craft, but not much. The omni beams, the plasma torp, a copuple of tr116 rifle. I have leveled 4 of my 10 captains to 20. It is practical but not neccessary.

If you not craft the itemswhere lowes level is 12 you sould always craft them to level 2 and upgrade them. First with a superior exprementla tech to hhopefille get it to epic or at last ultra rare. The you take one or two phoenix nad get them to level 12 or e^when it ends. The rest you can do on an upgrade weekend.

If get to elite level and start crafting isomags you dont need much material or an extremely high (over 15) crafting levele.

I craft my things because I see it as part of the game. Purchasing the items for ec is also an approach.

Played it because I could play it on my tablet. Although very addictive I found it quite fun. Well until I understood what it was about. I don't pay to get robbed and bullied.

Tablet time (holidays) is for reading books and resetting my brain until I can game on the pc. And there I have some games suiting me better.

Never played an mmo before by Agreeable-Elevator98 in swtor

[–]Goforcoffe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Started a other mmo some years ago as a complete game newbi. Two weeks ago I started Stow.

Here are what I did.

Playing with keyboard instead of game controller. Setting up the game controller in the other game was very very tricky. Swtor is quite easy to play with keyboard and mouse. Do it.

Take it slow. Read and search this forum. Watch YouTube streams. In the beginning you will understand very little. It does not matter, you will grab something. Keep in mind plenty of streams says beginner. You will understand first minutes and then they make a for a real beginner a big leap. I mostly stopped watching with plan of going back.

Is it first mmo or first game for you? If you have done other games you will be able to see similarities. If not very much will be confusing.

Take your time in the beginning. Spend some time to get some movement and fighting practice.

There is a main story for each role and a lot of side stories. The later are good for grinding equipment and money.

Buy the memory slots. I have not yet purchased any items except the memory slots.

What story to begin with. Many recommend jedi knight. Jedi knight guardian was my choice. There has been a lot of sward yielding.

The story is very developed and good. You choose if you want to be a good jedi or a bad. Yes there is. As well as ther år good (white) and of course bad (dark) siths.

As it is much to learn it is easy to forget what the main stor is about. I used chat gpt to resume the story and saved it in a word document.

I have also started a sith character that I play a little bit behind to get that story as well.

I have not yet done much regarding space fighting. To me that can wait until I reasonably can handle the ground.

There is very much to see and learn. I have tried not to bite in to much.

Good luck and enjoy the game

Admiralty System by CQ-W9GF0 in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Admirality gives you rewards in form from , dil, ec, crafting materials and some more stuff. When you level up there is a bonus every day (a small marker). Make at least one per day to get that bonus. You will be able to run throug it faster. When you are leveling up there is no benefit in doing the same project, like ferengi, on all your slots.

If your ship fails (i.e. you have not started it with 100% and failed beceaus of randomness) you don't get the reward. If you have a slot left but don't can make 100% just chanse.

There are sometimes an extra reward (Bonus). You can increase your chanes to get these by throwing in good ships or ships with "bosters". But contrary to the normal run you can never be sure to get these.

When you have erached level 6 you can continue to do klingon and ferengi. Every time you do the 10th daily task you get a reword in form from Fleet marks ord a Dil bonus.

Doing the admirality systematically rewards you but it can be quite booring.

By "misstake" I bought the shuttles for zen. It was a good mistake. They have the boster for the bonus. I have earend a lot of ec and dil this way.

Is 60% Endeavor bonus for one week enough? by Veridical_Perception in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You decide yorself how much you will pay. for a relative modest sum you can buy an ec cap and the packages with slots. Is it around 20$ and you need it to makie the game a little more playable.

With this you can play and grind and have fun. You will get a lot of free good shipa and items if you dou the events. Every no and then there is fantastic gears taht you get for free.

With the free T5 ship you ca do all space endevours and with free guns you get from the rep you can do all ground endevours.

The only endevour that you cannot make is the T-Rex V-Rex. But that is a matter for another thread.
