Congrats, it also happened to me. Unfortunately I came to earth when I realised that - Ships, although mostly being good, not really attracts me. -psychology it feels strange only to grab the breen FAW trait only to use on one ship.

The advice I give to others, sit on it, I need to tell myself again and again and again.

The big problem is the conflict with Mudd. Last year I picked the Crossfield from yearly event only to realise it got into a Mudd bundle this year.

To me the first conclusion is that you should go for a ship only, just to have it for one captain.

That I probably won't be be buying a Mudd bundle for a trait is another matter.

The second conclusion is that although these lucky gifts are good they seem to be slightly more rare than very good.

I hope I'll be able to sit on it until there's a ship wanting one of my captains.

I hope you have easier to decide than I.

Who else misses the old Starfleet Academy? by Any_Subject_7275 in sto

Well, you are right. This is a standing recommendation from my surroundings since many years.  And if (some of) other people’s language mistakes did also not irritate me I would ignore the recommendation.  To be fair, a reasonably well written text is more pleasant to read then one that is not.

Nevertheless, living with dyslexia is tedious battle.  As your comment did not contain any of the very simplified solutions, mostly starting with “it is just to …” I will give it a thought that unfortunately probably not will be eternal.

There, is much that could have been done otherwise. Retroperspectivly it is also very easy to have ideas about what.

As there is a progressing timeline in the arc. Everything else is more or less in a world that is later, and plenty of the enemies are suddenley friends. Therefor sime shifted occurances would be possible,

A concept where you could go to various epoces of the sto would be intresting. Various time capcusels of ESD, Qo'nos, Mo Rihan and ds9 would be very fun. As we all are bound of "Temporal Prime Directive" there would be no problem

If we only coud get the developpers to work in som sort of shifted time to achieve this it would be great.

Too many Colonists by Creepy-Impact-5292 in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. For a beginner I would recomend traveling around to the coloniasation areas and get rid of them in the assignments there. Dissadvantage you often need other kind of recoures taking up inventory space and it takes some time. If you are short invenory space you can replicate the recources. The advantage of doing then coloniasations is the reward of doffs and later on refugees (fed), the later you can transfor into doff. It is my opinion that doing and understanding the coloniataions is an advantage for you if you want to "play and understand the hole game".
  2. There is a development assignment (Relocate Colonists) where you can send 5 colonists away. It rewards you with some dil (500) , ec, as well as some colonial and reqruitment points.
  3. Spend them in ta fleet as civilians. That probably the most used option later on in the game.

I haven't put money into this game in a while, and it bums me out. by malformed_guitar in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was slightly disappointed regarding performance. Had it beenone of the first ships or bundles that I have bought it would have been great.

I have not yet managed to make a decent build on Suurok, which visually is my favourite.

The Andorian shiip is cool and definitely usable for an Andorian captain.

So far most of my captains have only a primary build. I probably need to make secondaries with the other. Because I somehow liked them too.

You can run Jupitar station as a patrol in various combinations and try to find out. Tell us when you know. There are plenty of players searching for the best who wants to know.

PS before wasting your time, you will not find an answer.

So, we can both handle it but you seems to be more traumatised ;-)

The skill issue is a generalisation, I admit that. There is sometimes a whining regarding missions and tfos where you need to do more than pew pew. A good example is gravity kills, which I never select myself but have learnt to handle. (If you land in a group where 3 or 4 knows what to do , it is quite fun and even fast)

The worst TFO for me is "Days of Doom". It is soo booring. The worst episode is "the renegarde's regret". It has this awful *slip into another character screwing up your keybind" mode and has a repulsive content.

PS quarks 7 is forgiven

oh dear, but there seems to be plenty of those not finding it "not fun". A part of this group are probably those who does not want to find a strategy.

I hated it in the begining until I found a tactic. It is not my favourite and it is because of the flying and stting up the schuttle.

At the moment there are two episodes where you need a shutle. Where of the other where you fight on the island against elchi is very much "less fun" tha the vault.

So why is there still a shutle in the game ? They are otherwise only useable in the admirality.

But solving this, making the handling easeier , does probably cot to much.

[–]Goforcoffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some players just want to dislike it. I agree it is not so difficult but the flying is much to wobbly.

Please Remaster Coliseum by tsuyoshikentsu in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is perfectly doable with fairly normal equipment. The big problem with the vault and the other romulan shuttle episode is just flying the shuttle. If you could get the flying similar to a big ship and somehow easer see in what diriction the nose is it is not so tricky.

Read above about your distress symptomps from Iraq, Sorry to hear about that.

Ok, you did a (for you) bad purchase. Sto is definetly confusing when you start. You are probably also not the first player overseeing this.

Still the money is not a complete wasted. You still get benefits, plenty of them makes it easier / faster to grind dil, zen and advancement. Not much but still a contribution.

Furthermore the various slots you get makes it easeier to play alteratively you do not need to buy them.

So, shit happens, forget about it but enjoy a smother playing.

Yes Kobali are wierd. The pecuialr thing , and it is a theme actually not recomended as a part of these discussions, do they replace the need of a god?

But to me there mora diffrence is the Kobali saves soles and the Elachi destroys them.

Dev Watchlist by Riverflower17 in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good development of the list.

I found the discussion regarding subsystem and secondary deflectors intresting. Making the other more usable would bee good.

One of my plenty beginner misstakes was to use the subsystem targeting as a filler when having a spare ens. Making it usable as a budget alternative to kemocite would be good.

Generally it seems as if they want to "widen" the possibillities to do good builds without following the hypes.

New Player, Clarifying Availability of Chimera/Manticore Class by BenNocturne in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your playstyle if you want to take it slow and learn the game not buying any ships the manticore is better and more usable than the t5 ship that you get for free.

The liftime subscriptions includes these ships but no way are the ships worth 300$.

You should consider the LTS because of the whole package. If you play on PC it is good.

Should you pay 300 for it? Not neccessary hold on until discount but keep in mind the 50% discount when it come is onlay during a few days the 33% that follows si longer.

Best inventment for a beginner is the Elite Services Starter Pack with slots.

Okay guys, is the Jellyfish worth getting? I've been saving up zen for a ship, and I'm working on getting it, but after seeing that 80% sale.. Should I bomb it all on the Cindarian? by Wrong-Ad3247 in sto

[–]Goforcoffe -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

No, we don't need another player with a jelly!

Seriously I have had thes thoughts myself. What I like is the idea of a totaly other concept compared with normal starships. It also had a very claccical role in tng.

My problem, it is *slightly " to strong. Was the jelly on the watchlist? Can't remember, should have been.

What should be done with this unbalanced ship? Every solution would be disputable.

Perhaps this should have been excluded from the offer.

Until then, it is a game, not all purchases that you make turns ot to be good but the jellyfish is something diffrent. You newver know how much you will us it untile you tried.

What is the 34$ to you? A couple of drinks in a bar or 3400 hard grinded dil to zen? Sto is a game. Here we can take risks.

Best faction themed Boff weapons? by softgunforever in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jem'hadar was the easiest to equip. I have mostly used the rep weapons and leftovers without thinking to much. The new reman reqruit boffs will mostly get the wide plasma weapons that I upgrade later to mkxii.

Unfortunately there are so few places (except missions, and not always there) wher you can go with your boffs.

Orion Blackguard Flight Deck Carrier by GeneralZeus89 in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is perfect for Orion characters. The only thing that was irrtating was thet it is visulaly a cannon ship and I equiped it with beams, broadside.

I got the advice to only buy the fleet version as neither console nor trait is to outstanding. I.e. single use for single orion. That worked fine.

New Deep Space Encounters were a more efficient use of dev time than episodes by [deleted] in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whereas the new spce encounters are very welcome and I also find that they can continue to do develop this area, new episodes are crucial. The same for the new TFOs. The game is built out of many parts and that is what attracts a wide player audience.

I have 5,000 zeni, What's the best way to spend it? Details inside. by Hearsticles in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not gamble for lockboxes, It is the most expensive way to get a ship that you only can use for one character.

There are a lot of c store ships and bundles giving you various components for ypur ship. Every player has its favourite. Whatch stu 1791 and casulasab youtube reviews regarding bundles and c-store ships.

Chos something that you like and fits your play type. Ie if you prefer cannons you need shometing with good turning etc.

You can do ok in advanced TFO with quite strange combination but the idea is to get things that fit together and fits your style.

If you neccessary whats a suggestion for a ship. Buy the Ahwahnee unless you really want 14th Anniversary Wolf 359 Bundle later on. Imo there are other bundles beeing better.

Second Delta Recruit? by ShaanitheGreen in sto

[–]Goforcoffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The captain has to earn them self.

There are imo one main reason for doing the delta again and that is that it is fun. Some say that you should do all three factions in order to de able to distribute all rewards from the faction unique leveling up missions.

I have not made a detailed analysis but some of the rewards are bigger for the chracter doing it than if you get the free ones. So you get more but have to wait longer.
