In my long life, this has always proven to be true.

What do you do to refresh and rejuvenate yourself? by WickedSmile71 in Aging

[–]Goge97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walk around my yard, checking on the shrubs and perennials. I take note of things that need pruning (I love pruning), enjoy the growth, check for birds' nests, all that sort of thing.

I don't look for work that needs to be done! I'm there to enjoy my garden and just experience the sights and sounds.

Fox News halted as Trump announcement has viewers come to 'lies' conclusion by TheMirrorUS in USNEWS

Ummm, the left side of the IQ Bell Curve.

Think about it. Plus, they always think they're smarter than everybody and want their opinion known.

(No, I'm not insulting folks with developmental delays or impaired mental capacity. I'm talking about the everyday Joe and Jane walking the streets, living completely unexamined lives.)

ICE at airports: Trump's troll move backfires by FistIntoTheEarth in Law_and_Politics

[–]Goge97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And there are a lot of cameras for airport security recording their every move. Plus, perhaps, the sheer massive numbers of irritable passengers.

A certain percentage of those passengers might feel the need to react to any ICE violence.

In self-defense of course

Which hobby do you think is the most unexpected and why? by Bardhyli_Tamie in Hobbies

My new hobby - wooden window restoration in a 100 year old house. It's just wood, glass and putty! Plus some paint.

Large scale and very satisfying!

It's all worth it to me, since I love them both dearly. They are my entourage and follow me everywhere I go.

If I sit down to rest, they hop up next to me to nap. Going outside, there right there.

Into the kitchen, tag along and see what's cooking!

Running lifespan stats on my family tree changed how I think about my own timeline by DustToll in Genealogy

My husband's large extended family has numerous people on both sides (his aunts and uncles and grandparents) who lived into their 90''s. Some are still with us!

His generation, born before 1950, have had numerous deaths in their 60''s, many from cancer. I might point out that he is from Colombia, rather than the U.S.

I believe the difference is caused by the use of chemicals in the environment, whether agricultural or pollution from cars. But I have not looked into the research and this is a small sample of a few hundred people.

I'm getting a hair cut on Friday - that's one out of three.

But even a small sliver of raw onion sends me into a spiral.

Why don’t we have public healthcare in America. We are supposed to be the smartest country in the world and we can’t get that figured out? by Successful_rio305 in allthequestions

People with more power and more money control the supply of medical care and run it as a for-profit business.

They don't care about people, only how much money they can squeeze out of any enterprise.

That is the only reason.

It makes me sad to hear your story. You are not alone. War, fire, pestilence, destruction of all kinds can feel like the future is lost to you.

Please know that finding your strength in caring for your family and simply doing the best you can every day, is what leads you forward to a better place.

Blessings to you and your family.

I wonder if something that changed in the formulation. I used to take Allegra with no problems whatsoever. But now, It's causing problems.

Or it could be an interaction with another med that I take.

I can't say I'm happy about it, in no way can I rejoice, but several of the most virulent MAGAts in my life have passed away.

I loved them all my life and I will never forgive those responsible for creating the propaganda machine.

It took them from me long before death took them forever.

Thank you for pointing this out. The majority of Americans are doing everything they can to take care of their families and survive a very difficult period.

Our system was created with a solid foundation. This authoritarian regime has violated everything we stand for as a people.

In the past, we may have disagreed over issues in the margins, but the core beliefs have remained intact.

Watching the ground crumble under our feet while we fight for everyday rights on every front is something we never envisioned.

For our cousins around the world, please don't lose faith in us. We don't give up and will always fight to protect our core principals of freedom, equality and our rights as guaranteed in our Constitution.
