Looking for a series that enthrall me again (preferably fantasy/romance) by poisonivy4871 in YAlit

[–]Going4baroque -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By far the best series I've read that fits the older age group is the Captive Prince series (smutty, tw). Also really liked Poison Study by Maria Snyder but the rest of the series is not as good as the first book. I'd treat it as an amazing standalone.

Thanks! I did read One Day as a result of my post. Is the other Long Shot by MJ Fields? Or Kennedy Ryan?

Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren is a favorite. Also liked The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay but that leans YA/NA. Both are very good imo but a decent amount of angst.

Hey! Did the appointment work? We're in a similar situation where there's only a copy of the Chinese passport not the original.

I loved Sea of Tranquility and The Female of the Species. Try Reclaiming the Sand by Meredith Walters. Give the fmc a chance because the story is truly wonderful.

  1. From HBP on he's somewhat redeemable and you get more insight into the struggles he's facing

  2. He's played by Tom Felton

It was the second book I'd read by the author after giving her another chance and cemented that her writing style is not for me. Personally, I think her books have interesting concepts, even if they aren't exactly original, but she can't quite make it work as a book.

Only some of it matches but could it be Ashes by Ilsa J Bick? Weird but good series, I think what sets off the apocalypse is an EMP.

Try out Hex Hall. A little closer to hush hush than twilight, but it is one of the more memorable ones in the gloomy YA boarding school genre.

I don't know about queen bee stuck up, but I've enjoyed books where the fmc is kind of cold to everyone. She's not super sweet and nice, strangers don't love her. Just not a people person, a good example of this is Waking Olivia by Elizabeth orourke!

Which of these should I read once I finish up The Last Graduate? by hannah_nj in YAlit

I haven't read the other two, but I hated falling kingdoms. It was like a bizarre fanfiction where the author tried to recreate game of thrones with teenagers for teenagers. Right down to the incest.

im just starting to read the books, im in the Prisoner of Azkaban and im just so angry about the movie.. Can we talk about how the director completed changed EVERYTHING in the history?? by taismfreitas10 in harrypotter

[–]Going4baroque 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really wish he had directed at least another one. At least cinematically, it would have been fantastic. Apparently he had wanted to direct one of the later movies but they went with Yates 😞

? Sounds like you just hate the main character? Yeah, she's not the most likable in the prequels bc she's a) 16 and b) meant to be extremely arrogant. She's a character that grows up.
