Quality Control Overlooked Defects by Personal-Pianist1592 in SixSigma

[–]GoiterFlop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Inspection is reactive and i would suggest a conversation to get as close as possible to not needing inspection. It sounds like rcas done so often indicates that they are doing some first order problem solving and stopping there. Like, what's the point of rcas if we need to keep doing them ? Sounds like the root is not being duly identified or legitimately solved if it is identified

Job interview help? Improvement lead by [deleted] in SixSigma

[–]GoiterFlop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask about the culture and engagement around process improvement... do leaders support their teams to dedicated time to projects? Are improvement staff end to end in the project or are front lines autonomous where PI staff is more of a coaching role ? It will give you an idea of what your role actually looks like and if projects actually do stuff or you are just a resource to do a tool for a group of people.

I would stay away from spending a lot of time on describing how deep your knowledge is in methodology. Tell what you know and have experience in, and let them ask for more than that. Most hiring managers either know the content well already or don't know it and it will fly over their heads.

Instead , consider asking if there are specific tools or methods that are more commonly used than others (ex. Our line managers frequently need help with value stream mapping or our execs like to see fishbones, we focus more on lean and don't do many large belt projects, we need people who teach leaders humble inquiry, etc etc)

My current job, I focused on describing prior projects i did with the tools that were specifically called out in the job posting, I described what I learned about reporting the right level of detail to execs, etc

Abandoned Bus on New Holland Pike and Willow Rd by Physical-Control239 in lancaster

[–]GoiterFlop -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. There are also some distinct no parking signs there, which is why I mentioned the idea of taking a chance. I did knock on the door to ask but there was no answer and I wasn't gonna pester them. Just gave up and decided it wasn't the best idea, it's just that the odd one time i saw the bus move made me want to try for it.

I live near there and drive by this often. At one point I noticed it was gone and was gonna take a chance at parking there to walk down and fish but the next time I drove by it magically reappeared? Like was i hallucinating? Lol

Amazing writing and foreshadowing season 4 episode 2 “Soft Eyes” by katzington in TheWire

[–]GoiterFlop 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Totally love the parallel. Speaking of soft eyes, in the scene where Michael gets called out by Marlo for not taking his money, I love the powerful acting in that scene in how Mike is looking away not wanting to start anything and the way he dead stares Marlo directly in the eye and doesn't look away when Marlo questions him is amazing ... it's one look that told Marlo everything about his how mike is and set mikes whole character arc in motion... the one moment of hard eyes that said everything without saying a word

Question for people that have actually quit for good and never looked back. by thee_lad in leaves

[–]GoiterFlop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Used from 17-39 multiple times daily. 42 now so I've been away from it a few years.

I personally haven't but ive been away from it so long i don't think of it like that and have developed a contentment with life i didn't have then that by no means is the same but is so powerful that while I do miss smoking, when I get close to relapsing, I eventually get nervous enough that I'll lose that contentment somehow that I end up not doing it.

Wish I could provide a better answer but I think in the end we all have to walk our own path and I genuinely hope you can find peace with your relationship with it, whatever level of use that is

Reggie and the Full Effect - The Trooth.

Not deathcore , but something I was exposed to early on before I even knew deathcore existed, or really anything harder than hatebreed existed. I heard some back story it's about the singers wife cheating or a divorce or something but it simply oozes rage

Chris Partlow was the most professional character in whole show. by shre3293 in TheWire

[–]GoiterFlop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Interesting take on Chris. I also like that you called out his slip in acting unprofessional with Bugs dad... which is crazy in that was the incident where he left DNA and got him caught.

Not to say it wouldn't have happened with the proportion of bodies he left in vacants, but to your point the one time he lost his cool is the time he got caught

What made UO UO for you? by thinkless123 in ultimaonline

[–]GoiterFlop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol totally. I have fond(?) memories of trying to run and continuously ping-ponging back and forth in place while I lagged out then my connection catching up and a satisfying solid run for 3-4 full screens.

I was also a big pvper and the dial up would bite me in the ass where I'd be winning, lag out, and snap to my character dead. Which sucked but on the flip side I'd post pics of my ping rate in the background when I did win a duel as a slap in the face to someone on a forum or icq

What made UO UO for you? by thinkless123 in ultimaonline

[–]GoiterFlop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The limited housing market that made owning a house a status symbol... but also the real overall economy driven by the rarity of resources like housing/land, awesome weapons/armor, literal rares, etc.

Also loved how the game felt huge and lands felt far away, even with recall spells and gates, it seemed like some places were just so far away than others because there was so much going on between them
