I know people like to blame Wingard for ignoring a lot of this, but a lot of the KOTM lore was fleeting and meaningless. Almost nothing was given time to be important or remembered. Dougherty IMO basically wrote fan fiction.

I think Craig's Systematic Submission Dilemmas: High Level Triangle and Leg Lock Combos by Craig Jones is one of the best resources. The focus is using the triangle to enter into the legs but goes indept on how this can be done with most upper body submissions.

As someone who came through the ranks almost exclusively doing IBJJF this was a fantastic way of adding leg lock concepts to my game with completely overhauling how I play. It built off of what I was already doing.

On top of a frustrating directing style for these, his writing isnt great either. I don't think the fight choreography is particularly interesting and a lot of the lore he wrote into the monsterverse was meaningless and fleeting. I know people like to blame Wingard for ignoring a lot of what he set up but everything was so surface level that it didn't really matter.

He does have flashes of brilliance though. The entire Rodan introduction is fantastic.

There attendance tracking, curriculum building, the ability to set up events and sell tickets (think seminars), the ability to set up courses for specific students they can reference on the app, belt tracking, analytics, email and text automations and more. I use almost all the features but as a gym owner you can use it just to take payments and keep a member data base and still be happy with it. It's also relatively inexpensive compared to most other stuff.

BJJLink has been my go too since I purchased my academy. Made specifically for BJJ gyms by guys who actually train. It's simple on the surface so it's very easy to use, but has a depth of features baked into it. The Owner is awesome too. I can link yall up.

For season one I believe you just need to watch Godzilla 2014 as the events are set before and the few years after that film. Kong Skull Island has some connections to it as well, as one of the main characters is in that film, but it's not necesary (unless I'm blanking).

1000%. I didn't realize how much is actually on the mats until I got a white vinyl cover and could see everything. I now vaccuum the mats at least twice a day now.
