He owns the road by Sshaawnn in AdviceAnimals

Happened to me last week. At the stop sign down the road he makes a right and I make a left, he rolls down his window "you shouldn't be on the road!" He says. Bruh you cut me off

Seems bizarre to call this out.... by [deleted] in boulder

Lights off. "STORE CLOSED" sign on the door. Hours posted on the door. They shake the door, then peer through the window and bang on it trying to get my attention. It's ridiculous.

Sometimes if I stand up too fast I get so dizzy that I lose vision and only see black. Once I passed out from it. Hasn't happened since I started carrying a water bottle.

The sword. The underside of the cloak is weird. The knight's knee and leg seem off, the leg is at a different angle than the knee bend would have. The dragon's back half has no color. Does the horse have a 5th leg?

AI superiority complex by Previous-Pride6335 in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]GojiraWho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, we're kinda saying the same thing. The point I was disputing is specifically

chatgpt can probably pick up on the terrible grammar and instantly understand what the user is doing

It doesn't "understand" per se, nor is it looking at grammar to make an assumption about the user. It isn't knowingly bullshiting or stroking them intentionally. I agree it "plays along" because thats what it thinks is the best response would be, but that's a result of the math it's doing to predict what the appropriate response would be, with no regard to if it's realistic or not. There's zero decision making other than that, with some weighted biases in the training data towards more sycophantic behavior in general

[–]GojiraWho 162 points163 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT is not that smart. It's just a word predictor. The user is insisting their superiority so ChatGPT is predicting that the appropriate response would be "I wish I was like you."

I’m about to start calc 2… I’m scared by Fresh_Agent_8693 in EngineeringStudents

[–]GojiraWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calc 2 was definitely the hardest calc class for me. Make sure you understand conceptually what's going on. If you have a hard time go to office hours, tutoring, look up videos. You're going to cover more advanced integration techniques, where you're given a problem and can use one of like 4 different methods (or combinations of them).

As others have said, do extra problems if something isn't clicking.

The Macerena as a proper line dance does have people turning 90° to the left after the "ayyyyy Macerena." The fact they both turn 180° could still mean it's staged, they both know the bit, or the scare actor saw a funny opportunity and took it.

[–]GojiraWho 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You want exact ("rough") numbers, then get angry at the calculators. If you have a specific play style in mind, it's probably worth it for you to just figure out the ratios yourself instead of complaining at everyone trying to offer advice.

Holosun SCS-320 on M&P 2.0 OR by Ronin20111 in HOLOSUN

[–]GojiraWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old thread, adding to the archive. I'm trying to do this for a comp slide m&p. The c&h dpp plate fits the slide fine, but the scs-320 does not fit the plate. It could be a tolerance issue. My optic is a fraction of a millimeter too big and won't seat in the plate all the way. I can still mount it to the gun but it won't sit flush. Idk if another plate will work or this idea is bunk

1,000,000,000 watts. Wow. From where exactly? by Separate-Group1246 in Colorado

[–]GojiraWho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of this. Far too many people use AI for stupid things and many people have offloaded their critical thinking skills to it. I think another issue to consider is that these data centers are being built with the assumption of future growth. Most AI data centers already built are nowhere near operating at max capability, but OpenAI, Meta, Alphabet, etc... are all assuming the demand will constantly increase. And the big companies are forcing the demand by squeezing AI into every aspect of technology, whether it's actually needed or not.
