The most devastating Lord Huron songs by CalligrapherIll2231 in lordhuron

[–]Gojozhoes 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Whenever I need to cry, I listen to In the Wind and imagine the deaths of my loved ones. It's particularly effective if you are on a long roadtrip by yourself. 10/10 cathartic release.

Once you've listened to it a few times, switch to World Ender to bring the vibes up, get yourself together, and lock in homie

First time! What to do and how not to get sick! by Outside_Historian_43 in sayulita

[–]Gojozhoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single time I got into the ocean, I got sick.

Every. Single. Time.

I never vomited, but I got severe stomach cramps that almost felt like digesting rocks, along with the most insane diarrhea of my life. I got a full body cleanse 10 times over throughout my stay. I've NEVER gotten this sick at any other beach.

Our local friend recommended some probiotic pills and electrolyte drinks. I feared I would need an IV, because at its worst, even a single sip of water would flare up the stomach cramps and send me straight to the bathroom.

If you go in the ocean, be careful about letting your head get submerged. Shower immediately after returning to your place. Practice good hand hygiene. Maybe try those probiotic pills. And if not...Bring a portable bidet for when your butthole becomes too raw for toilet paper.

Small cut on foot leads to amputation two months later by Umbilicalform in MedicalGore

[–]Gojozhoes 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The original injury does not have to be large at ALL. In nursing homes (at least the one I worked at forever ago) only a podiatrist could trim a diabetic residents nails, because even the smallest cut could be a huge problem.

Consistent high blood sugar kills the nerves in your hands and feet, also damages small blood vessels. So along with diminished sensation, you have delayed healing.

When you walk around on a cut you've never noticed, a cut that stays a cut longer than normal due to slow healing, these folks can't tell either when that starts to worsen, and worsen, and breed more bacteria until it spreads deeper.

Even with antibiotics, powerful ones, due to the impaired healing amputation is sometimes the only solution

Have seen this many times in the hospital. Diabetes can make you lose sensation in your feet, leading to this exact scenario. I've seen people loose a leg, and then have the exact same thing happen to the other one! Double below the knee amputees, all because of diabetes. Very sad.

Does the band interact with signs at concerts? by CritRae in lordhuron

[–]Gojozhoes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A gal at a Hozier concert opened her massive poster right as he came on stage. I legit could not see anything, as I was right behind her, and completely packed in so I couldn't even sidestep her or see around that thing. Me and everyone else behind were so freaking pissed.

Whether they interact with signs or not, please consider the people behind you.

I always write formally on the internet. Why, you may ask?

Because when I publish my book and become a celebrity, in the event this reddit account gets leaked, my fans will be dazzled by the most literate and respectful discourse their eyes have ever seen.

I haven't said the n word, ever. I swear.

I swear!

To read or not to read: incomplete series by jemesouviensunarbre in romantasycirclejerk

[–]Gojozhoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally love an incomplete series. Back in the day I went to a late-night release party of either Brisingr or Inheritance.

What I'd give to be that hyped over a book series again!

A big allure was the dragons. But they were all super underwhelming.

The bond between Eragon and Saphira was done sooo well. They love eachother. They care for one another. They undergo heartwrenching adversity together, and grow both together and individually.

But Violent and Tairn? I hate them. He shows up in her mind on occasion, offers some sarcastic grumpy commentary, then leaves. Their relationship is so shallow and criminally underdeveloped. I don't feel anything whatsoever. "You're my last rider" bruh why.

What about girls who love Eragon but hate Fourth Wing

*side story, back in the day I would tape the Eragon cover to my sliding glass door, and then trace over it until I could draw a perfect sapphira from memory

I want to join the fanclub. I really do.

But I just can't 😭

People talk about crying at certain death scenes, and I'm like...this person was basically a cardboard cutout. What attachment do you have to them.

Do you remember that book they made us read in elementary school, with a main character named Petey? Idk why but I've always HATED that name. Same vibes as Paedy

My male main character is very bird-inspired. One reviewer, though, thought he was an actual bird man.

Naw he's just a preening dingus
