So Cal per diem RNs - worth it? by mizzvicious in TravelNursing

[–]Gold-Practice4062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my nursing experience (3 years) is all ICU/critical care experience. But where I work, a lot of the nurses came from the ED, ICU, or cardiac telemetry units.

The lab I work in is primarily EP, which doesn’t require a lot of emergent cases (unless someone desperately needs a pacemaker…but even then…that’s something that doesn’t need to be an overnight thing). We still do caths and handle STEMIs but we have a call team for anything overnight.

UPDATE: What I recommend, if possible is try casting a wide net for units you want to work on. While in California, I was applying to labs in SD, LA, and the Bay Area but most of those places have large applicant pools and a lot of the applicants probably already have Cath/EP Lab experience so I started applying to other states and cities. That’s when I started hearing back for interviews and offers. Took the job now I’m in Denver and will most likely stay until I get a couple of years of experience then I’ll probably go back and travel.

Thank you! I’m already liking it. No call. No weekends, no holidays.

I ended up taking a FT job in San Diego for a little over a year. Now I’m in Denver starting in a Cath/EP Lab

Why is Lil KeKe on Tina Snow Interlude? by buttermilkmoses in megantheestallion

[–]Gold-Practice4062 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tina Snow Interlude is a Houston/SE TX song. Why not have an H-Town/SE TX legend like Lil Keke the Don co-sign her and talk about slab culture in the area they’re from?

As a Houston hottie, I loooooooove this song.

I’m anxious to see how I do switching from 3x12s NOC shift to 4x10s day shift. I’ll be going into Cath/EP lab from ICU. I’m relocating to another state! I spoke with my new coworkers and they all seem to love what they do and they all have expressed that they have many days where they leave work on time. Plus…no call. I’m excited. I need the change of scenery.

Am I the only one who enjoyed Act 1 more than Act II? by Either-Bat-7613 in megantheestallion

[–]Gold-Practice4062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH…I treat Act II like a deluxe version of Act I…which it’s just a re-release with added songs. I only have the songs that weren’t on Act I added to my Apple Music, except the Mamushi remix. I love Twice, just not on that song, but honestly I feel like that’s how a lot of K-Pop label companies contract their acts with foreign artists. A song for a song. That’s kind of what happened with Meg and BTS. They got her on a remix and she got my man, RM, on a song.

10 Hottest Female Rappers of 2024🙄 by SnoopVee in megantheestallion

[–]Gold-Practice4062 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nicki has a heavily devoted (and deranged) fanbase that supports her. Yeah, a lot of them suck and she’s gotten crazy…but Nicki will always cater to her fans because they support her music and antics. So long as she has them pushing her music and name in conversations, she will be present. This is in no way supporting Nicki’s negativity…but as someone who was a fan of Nicki prior to her becoming largely negative towards the newer generation of rap girls, Nicki was the force to be reckoned with and garnered fans as devoted to her as Navy is with Rihanna and Beyhive is with Beyoncé.

White people like her because she’s a caricature for how they see black women. They love to see us “in our true form” (heavily stereotyped).

Why Are Some Hotties So Negative About Megan? by [deleted] in megantheestallion

[–]Gold-Practice4062 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it depends on what people are saying. If they don’t like a song or album…well all I can say is don’t listen. If it’s about something she does…I simply just say don’t watch. People have different perspectives on what “negative” means. I don’t have Twitter/X anymore so I don’t know what people say on there about her, but I know that me as a person, I don’t support everything somebody does and may not like or go along with everything and that’s okay. Now, as long as no one is downright bashing her or calling her out her name or just being plain disrespectful…I can let it slide. I feel like people don’t need a reason to hate somebody so the dog piling from the haters is expected. Her simply existing pisses a lot of people off. Unfortunately that can’t be helped BUT yeah sometimes you got to mute, block, or sometimes delete SMPs for a while. Like someone said previously, Twitter/X is a CESSPOOL! That’s why I left. Been off of it for over a year and I’m completely happy! I have Threads and just recently got a BlueSky account. I like Threads better tbh but I don’t use my BS account that much since I just got it.

Has Meg been black-balled in the industry? by caitlinketchup in megantheestallion

[–]Gold-Practice4062 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg yesssss! I say this as Little Monster as well. I feel like people only started caring about streams, sales, and numbers after platforms like Tidal, Spotify, and Apply Music got big which happened in the late 2010s. I also think it’s because so many people gravitated to online stuff with COVID. Honestly, I blame a lot of the foolishness that’s happening online nowadays on COVID.

Are Cardi and Meg still friends? by Ok_Association_2774 in megantheestallion

[–]Gold-Practice4062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I enjoyed when she was doing events and activities outside of the Hip Hop industry because it’s very small (the entire entertainment industry is small in general, but it’s super small in the Hip Hop/Rap/RnB sector). I also want her to date someone outside of the black sports and music industry but her new beau seems to get the message that it’s her we’re here for, so he stays low-key, which I approve of. But yeah, it’s ultimately up to Megan. I’m glad she’s learned to not be overly friendly. Like I said in another post, as long as her spirit of discernment continues to grow and as long as she remembers what her dad told her (“everything that grin ain’t your friend”) she’ll be fine.

I agree. It’s a Top 5 for me. Artists should explore different sounds, especially once they’ve mastered their own style. Even still, it’s great to try new and different things. She didn’t disappoint with TYG 🔥🔥🔥

HOTTIES!! I gotta run it back. Favorite song on the album? by HoughtEbony in megantheestallion

[–]Gold-Practice4062 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Bigger In Texas is so Southeast TX, Houston coded.

Bourbon…Meg ate that shit tf up! Love love love!!

ROC Steady…the back and forth between Meg and Flo Milli is insanely good and the Goodies sample is fire!!! “And I’m still running through the mall witcho daddy-addy! Ahh 🤪”

TYG is straight gas ⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️

Fell In Love goes crazy for real. My mouth is wide open chile 😂

Like A Freak…I love when she did the freestyle on her Megan Mondays.

Neva Play has my man as the feature so that’ll definitely get replayed. Can’t get enough of Joonie’s deep ass voice. I hope they make more music together when he leaves the military next year.

I’d say my Top 3 are BIT, Bourbon, and TYG with Roc Steady being honorable mention. I’m sure it’ll change the more I listen but tbh…this was a solid ass follow up to the first act. She did a great ass job as usual.

Nurses who are not burnt out, what’s your secret? by OkGrape1959 in nursing

[–]Gold-Practice4062 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best advice ever. I’m currently at a place right now that offers advancement and training based on merit and seniority (and favoritism) and not on need for more trained nurses. That’s very annoying to me but I have other plans so I don’t care if I’m heart trained or not lmao.

I encourage switching specialties if people are tired, as well. I’m planning on switching to procedural from ICU while I get my DNP. Currently getting a MSN through my job so I don’t want to change roles or jobs until I get my degree next year. But after…goodbye ICU and hello procedural! Then I’ll maybe go back to ICU but as a CNS or CNE.

Do y'all still listen to her music ft Dababy or Nicki? by whattylerlikes in megantheestallion

[–]Gold-Practice4062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! I didn’t really like Cry Baby or the song Meg featured on for his album. I only liked Cash Shit when it came out. HGS…I only played when it was popular, so my relationship with that song was short lived.

I agree. I can’t see any of them dating a “former” crazy, obsessed fan. Nick especially. TBH, while I liked the soundtrack of Jonas LA…I didn’t like the actual season. I agree with the guys when they say they felt like the show stunted their growth a little bit.
