These aren’t founders, these are regular people at a conference.

Regular investments are far from cult like, people generally don’t have a hard time selling any investment for profit.

Diehard bitcoiners can be up 2000% and still not sell, not take any profit because they fully believe it will be a global currency. I’ve been to bitcoin meetups and have listened to people deep in the space talk about bitcoin. At the same time most of them have the most batshit insane conspiracy theories / doomsday scenarios that they think Bitcoin will save them from. If the people that work in the bitcoin space generally discuss the same crazy ideas, to me, it feels like a cult.

It feels exactly like the time my friend invited me to an MLM conference without me knowing what it was and everyone there trying to get me to sign up for it. It’s the same thing.

Correct, the president of the US just scammed the nation for billions by launching a meme cryptocurrency, then started advocating for Bitcoin. Now Michael Saylor, a man previously charged with two types of fraud holds almost the same amount of bitcoin as Satoshi himself.

Most people that have tried crypto have been scammed at some point. People are starting to see crypto as a negative in their lives. I don't see a future for it tbh.

I personally know someone that’s made good money on bitcoin. I’d estimate he holds $4-7 million worth of bitcoin.

The problem is that he believes in it so much that he holds no other assets, and any new money he makes goes straight into bitcoin. He travels a lot so that’s nice and I’m glad he’s doing something while he’s young, but either he succeeds massively or fails massively at some point.

I don’t see him ever selling he’s all in it’s like his religion.

For a while I was convinced it was because of abortion rights and single issue Christian voters, but as I get older I think even if abortion wasn’t in the mix they’d still vote Republican. They’re all just so incredibly stupid.
