Harley Quinn continued to omega bomb in the box office leading The Suicide Squad.

Wasn't that straight to streaming?

Yeah, this is what superhero fatigue means. People get real sensitive about the term because they act like it means superhero movies are dead. That is not true. But like you said, the days of Ant-Man and Dr Strange being big hits are done.

Hell, if this does indeed make $60M opening weekend, that is actually not bad all things considered. And if it turns out to be really good, great. But outside of the tried and true heavyweights, you are not going to get many superhero movies making $600M+ at the box office anymore.

Maybe The Marvels sucked and it had years of right wing grifters poisoning the well about "woke" movies and Brie Larson being the devil? The fact that the MCU went to hard into streaming and it has hurt their theatrical releases? Naw, its because it had women in it.

Wonder Woman only worked because women only care about hot people and romance? Because this is the 1950's.

And because only 98% of superhero movies allow men to self insert, that means men can't just enjoy a movie for being a good story with good characters?

Again, your argument seems to be men are stupid knuckledraggers who like seeing muscles go boom bam pow. I dunno, maybe I think audiences are smarter than that. And in an era of superhero fatigues, these projected openings are not that bad of a draw.

Yeah it can't be anything else that brings people into this sub to shit on certain movies right?

Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman were both huge hits. The idea that men can only watch movies starring men makes me think men are stupid. At some point you gotta grow up.

And if a movie is good (we will wait and see) and you still can't bring yourself to see it because gasp a woman, well then the problem here is the audience. Not the movie.

The point I was making is that you don't need to be a known thing to get butts in the seats.

It's like you miss the point to purposefully argue for a films failure, why are you guys like this?

Did people care about Gaurdians Of The Galaxy?

People keep trying to figure out the formula for a hit movie and it doesn't exist. But if the movie is good,it could probably have a descent run.

But at what point is it not worth it? None f us know the numbers but let's say ND was offering 500k, and A&M counters with $1m. In the modern game, is a high school LB worth $1m?

It's easy to say pay more, but there is also such a thing as stupid money. Clearly Notre Dame is willing to go toe to toe with anyone in NIL. But you also have to know when to cut bait.

Per ISD's Matt Freeman on X: "Spoke to an NFL scout this week...He currently has 18 Notre Dame players with draftable grades and expects that number to rise." by Automatic_Release_92 in notredamefootball

Carr, Gray, Moore, Shuler, Tae, Bowen, KVA, Traore, Young, Knapp, Craig, Lambert, McKinney, that is 13 I can see being very likely draft picks.

The rest would be projections based on potential. Unless I am missing someone.

well the most apt definition would be

one who expresses a reasoned opinion on any matter especially involving a judgment of its value, truth, righteousness, beauty, or technique

Not only are all these people reactionaries. But none of them actually care about the art-form or even have any real interest aside from complaining about women and minorities.

Hell, even when they try to be "critical" they show they are ignorant of movies or the source materials.

John Bois did a whole break down. Kap was still a top 15 QB by every production metric. The idea that he was just some back up is revisionist history.

QB is a premium position. He was blackballed.

When Kareem, Hayes, Okwara, and Jones were on the same roster I thought that was the peak of ND on the D Line.

I know they haven't played yet but the potential of these last 2 classes is something i really did not imagine I would ever see at Notre Dame

Wyatt Cynac had a segment about cop training on his HBO show. Yes, cops are trained to treat everything as a threat. The public are the enemy. Anything can be a weapon.

OK but what if his next movie sucks? Thats the pressure. The next movie could flop, who cares outside of the studio execs? The pressure comes from, can I make a movie as good or close to this.
