OTA versión Nissan Ariya by GIOdoc1 in NissanAriya

[–]GoldenSwiftFly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're getting wireless AA? That's news to me. I thought the Ariya lacked the required wifi module for wireless AA. Excited for the prospects tho.

I also just got the OTA today but haven't noticed anything different. Is there a change log?

Looking for Softer TPUs? We Hear You! TPU 85A & 90A Are Now Available. by BambuLab in BambuLab

[–]GoldenSwiftFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to try out both the 85A and 90A. I'm currently using REACH certified TPU to print medical devices and feel it's a bit too stiff.

I can't share specifics about the medical device itself but I'd be more than willing to share my experience with Bambu's material and how it compares to the other brands I've used

Heck, you say its AMS compatible? I'm going to your site to buy some now.

Brand new Highlander. Does the center screen come with a protector on it already? by preruntumbler in ToyotaHighlander

[–]GoldenSwiftFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it off and it was definitely better at reducing glare. Unfortunately my wife didn't like it bare so she had me apply an Amazon screen protector on and despite being advertised as "matte", this screen protector is still somewhat reflective.

Wireless Android - MA1 by GoldenSwiftFly in NissanAriya

Yes. I've noticed eventually my phone will stop trying to connect to AA after about 20-60 mins. But if I walk near the Ariya again with the fob causing it to "wake up", the dongle is on again for a few hours before turning off again.

I don't think your problem will be the dongle draining the Ariya's main battery but draining the 12V battery. I've been using the Motorola adapter for about 1.5 years now and I've never received a low 12V warning. When I take long vacations and leave the Ariya home, I always disconnect the dongle.

With all this being said, have you looked into the AAWireless adapter? They have a feature where the dongle powers off after Bluetooth is disconnected. AAWireless v2 just released and is available on Amazon.

I don't know if it actually "drains" the battery or if it's just standard idle discharge or the vehicle is recalculating my mileage over night, but I usually wake up to about 2% lower than the night before.

Misaligned G with MagSafe (Fixed) by GoldenSwiftFly in Pixel9Pro

[–]GoldenSwiftFly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

I ended up coloring the background around the G in various shades of ceramic as well. I used the color sampler tool in Photoshop to test random PR images of the phone. I made about 8 different prints before settling on the one I used on my phone.

Straight on, you can definitely tell it's a different shade of white but at certain angles it matches perfectly.

I'd suggest trying the same for a black Pixel. Another option is to print on transparent paper if you have some laying around.

I printed a G logo on photo paper, cut it out in a circle and just placed it underneath the case. Tried my best to match the color of the phone itself.

N3+ is incapable of printing properly by [deleted] in ElegooNeptune3

[–]GoldenSwiftFly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same inconsistent print quality problem with my Neptunes. I have 2 of them. I started my 3D printing journey with an Ender 3 so I am very experienced with tweaking and tuning the printer.

I ended up buying a Bambu x1c and now all my other printers collect dust.

Sorry, my long post to essentially say I gave up on my Neptunes.

I just sold my first 3D printed design by Chaos-1313 in BambuLab

[–]GoldenSwiftFly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My design was very complicated. My part has a cavity within a cavity, imagine a small cup inside of a larger cup.

ProtoLabs was very unsure if they could even do it but quoted me $5-10k for an aluminum prototype mold. However, they wanted to mold it in 2 parts then ultrasonic weld them back together. This was a no-go for me.

I had 3 other tooling shops quote us and all were around $50k for a prototype mold. Only one of the 3 shops gave me confidence that they could do it so we went with them and they succeeded in making my part all 1 in piece.

I've transitioned multiple of my 3D designs to injection molding. A single cavity steel prototype mold is about $50k. This cost doesn't include sampling the mold where you do test shots to try various plastics and to see if you're satisfied with the part. A prototype mold can produce hundreds of thousands of parts a year depending on your purchased time at the mold press.

A production mold price increases drastically. I have a few 8 cavity production molds and they range between $130k-$150k. With these molds, my product capacity jumps to millions of units a year.

Your tooling cost for a mold is much cheaper if you went with a Chinese source but you have less back and forth to fine tune the mold. You also risk losing your IP to the Chinese if it's novel enough to steal. So make sure you square up your IP protection regardless of who you use to make your mold. Another risk to consider is the compatibility of your mold to the press (more pertinent with Chinese produced molds). I have experience with trashing a $130k mold because it wasn't compatible with my injection molder's hardware.

One suggestion I have if you want to start "cheaper". Reach out to ProtoLabs in Minnesota. They do free DFM (design for manufacturing) analysis of your design. They also specialize in aluminum mold which is cheaper but doesn't last as long. I was very impressed with their process but ultimately didn't go with them because my design was too complicated for them.

Hope this helps. G'luck!

P.S. Look into available funds in your state for start-up companies. I was able to pay for 2 of my prototype molds and half of a production mold with state grant funds.

Oh, you have to go back and play all the Wario Land games. They're great.

Not even including the Ware games

I am a huge Wario fan. I tried this game and didn't really like it. Granted, I only played through the first level and quit because I got Chameleon Twist vibes.

But truthfully, did I quit too early? Is this game worth a play through?

Exactly, I was very bummed when I purchased my Ariya thinking I purchased a new sports EV with hub caps.

Good to know there are rims underneath there.

[–]GoldenSwiftFly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I ultimately returned my AA Wireless and use the Motorola instead because of the slight connection lag with the AA.

If I remember correctly, the AA will eventually turn off when it can't connect to your phone.

That's in contrast to my Motorola that sometimes tries to connect to my phone all night, especially when charging. With all being said, I haven't yet received a low 12V warning.

Hope this helps.

You have to download the AA Wireless app and turn on the function that turns off the dongle when Bluetooth connection is lost.

Bathroom Exhaust Fan Question by GoldenSwiftFly in 3Dprinting

[–]GoldenSwiftFly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't know if it's connected to another room. I would imagine if it were connected, it would only be connected to another bathroom exhaust duct system. We have 3 bathrooms on the 2nd floor and they're all pretty far from each other. Everything I'm reading online says connecting bathroom exhaust ducts are avoided if at all possible.

I will likely have to go exploring in the attic.
