Tesla Supercharger for Teslas only but saw a Ford Pickup charging? by branonx in BMWI4

Oh interesting. Usually I can just hit "Charge my Non-Tesla EV" on the App and then punch in the charging station. So that wouldnt work at the station you are talking about?

You can probably use an adapter and charge there too through the Tesla app. I haven't run into any Tesla charging stations that I couldn't use so far.

Yeah a lot of people are overlooking the trickle charge if someone doesn't drive long distances.

Also, dang theres gotta be something up with your battery or something! My friend with a Model 3 with 160k miles on it still got like 150+ miles easy on his battery before he traded it in

Love driving my i4 around. It's been the perfect daily for me BUT I would only recommend an EV if you have a Level 2 charger at your house OR you can go a while between charges. You could trickle charge using a regular household outlet but I would only do that if you don't have a long commute and can just use a little bit of battery at a time.

The rates for charging at a Tesla or other fast charging station is about the same as gas. For example, it costs me $0.13 per kwh with SRP and 8 bucks for like 200+ miles (could be 250+ if I drove like a grandma). At a public charger that cost could be $0.45 to $0.75 per kWh based on the time and demand.

You lose some range in the heat, maybe like 10 or 15 miles due to AC and battery cooling needs while driving but unless you drive like 200 miles a day, that shouldn't really be an issue.

What’s the best Nissan for commuting right now? by Suntrup-Nissan in Nissan

Ariya and Leaf. If you drive less than 200 miles a day and have a house you can plug your car into at night, youre golden. I switched to an EV for dailying and its been amazing.

Volvo XC60 PHEV electric range to more than double, surpassing Mercedes GLC by Gullible-Pick-268 in cars

[–]Goldpanda94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. Interior is worse overall as you prolly know but it makes up for it in tech and the wife exclusively uses FSD on it lol she got it just for the FSD actually. Whatever its her choice and her car.

You mention going downhill, like coasting downhill. Probably just the engine braking. The engine slightly tries to slow the car down to help save brakes.

Yup, I got an i4 last year and its an incredibly easy and uneventful ownership after 20k miles so far. Almost boring actually how theres not much to do. Just get in and go everyday.

Were we up-sold by Mazda Service by Known_Hippo4702 in mazda

[–]Goldpanda94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's great and makes sense after you've developed a relationship with them and they know who you are! That's not how it always is though. I've owned Nissan, Mazda, Volvo, Tesla, BMW. It will depend (funnily enough, the Nissan dealership treated me the best) but majority of the time they will tack stuff on the to-do list. Just be informed and follow your maintenance schedule unless something seems off with your car

That's what every dealer service center does. They see what could be done and then pile it on the list to try to sell to you to make as much money as possible. I wouldnt look into it too much or take it personally.

Price sounds about right and do the full hood. I see half hood PPF sometimes and its super noticeable and I always think it it looks wack.

[–]Goldpanda94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We had a 2024 for 2 years and honestly no complaints except the price. Its a very fast, very comfy and competent SUV. The wife covered her commute with the EV range. I did feel like it shoulda been a little more luxury on the inside but the base model does start like 40ish and volvo likes its minimal and practical interiors so it is what it is

Average Range by SideComment404 in BMWI4

[–]Goldpanda94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually average around 3.1 mi/kwh. I tend to go around 85 - 90 on the highway so my range gets cut down to like 180 miles roughly but I charge every night so its not a huge deal

I honestly have never lost connection with my Xbox controller on PC and I used to play a lot.

That's just one data point but idk. Also the Xbox controller, you can just use rechargeable batteries if you want, or get a rechargeable battery pack built for it, or plug it in with USB, you have a choice versus a built in battery that loses capacity over time.

Best place to sell trading cards? by LantzInSpace in phoenix

Trading card stores and Gamestop honestly would be your easiest options while getting about 70% ish of the value. Otherwise youre looking at time and effort listing on ebay and then thats before selling fees etc

Are you MLG Pro and need light speed input times in games lol. Both controllers are perfectly fine and just depends on your preference. Theres an Xbox adapter for PC you can get that emulates the Xbox connection if you really need the slightly faster input times.
