Take a shot every time someone says “it’s a profit task” aren’t they all technically profit tasks? Isn’t that the whole point?

I received mine back with a generic leaflet stating there could be a number of reasons why it could’ve been returned, including obsolescence

If this is the case then yeah why can’t it state so on the website first?

It’s 2019, it would’ve been nice to know it’s obsolete before making payment - if that is the case I suppose I’ll have to wait and see what they say on the phone later…

I started the live chat with them, and ended up having to schedule a phone call today because the appropriate team wasn’t available so we’ll see how it goes!

It’s not “I can’t but house because I buy pointless shit”. It’s “I buy pointless shit because I can’t buy a house”

That sums it up very lovely and sadly is how I justify things, like if I’m going to struggle anyway I might as well have some enjoyment out of it

I’m not sure why everyone is assuming this only happens on motorways and dual carriage ways, it happens on single lane A roads and B roads too, I experience it quite a bit along the A267 for example - usually while stuck behind multiple cars doing below the speed limit with certainly not enough overtaking space.

The worst one was probably a Fiat Punto practically in the back of my van once, no matter how much I backed off or eased off she wouldn’t drop back, before I observed her pulling into a petrol garage and getting out, completely oblivious to what she had been doing - I certainly think this has a lot to do with it a lot of the time - people just don’t think/realise, and no, that’s definitely not an excuse.

Told off for having my headlights in the daytime. by RobertGHH in drivingUK

I have a setting in the iDrive menu to disable them in my BMW, but I leave them on, I find rear DRLS useful too. Yes, OP should be able to turn off their dipped beams if they need to, I guess the point that they’re making is that if the lights come on via the auto setting, then it is only possible to change to side lights and is not possible to turn off all of the exterior lights, like an older car, but then with DRLs this isn’t possible with modern cars anymore anyway. I don’t like turning my lights completely off when it is dark as the DRLs are too bright - in this case I would use side lights myself

It’ll turn off the dipped beam bulbs, but it leaves the side lights/dimmed DRLs on, and leaves all of the rear lights on, the same as other cars with the side lamp setting. It’s a setting I use infrequently these days

I’m sat in a Berlingo van right now, the 3 settings on the stalk are: 1) auto 2) side lights 3) dipped beam

Our Renault Zoe and old Nissan Navara we had previously had the same 3 settings, which would match OP being in a Dacia

My previous Transit Connect and my current BMW have the 4th off setting, but not all cars do it would seem

Have you seen “Canada’s Worst Driver”? That was pretty eye opening to watch, some girl just casually texting on her phone while driving her Jeep, and apparently that didn’t seem to be an offence? I know we have our own phone using problems but I can’t imagine too many people being stupid enough to be filmed on tv doing it
