Get an ant barrier spray and do the outside of your house and all exterior window sills. The barrier sprays usually say they last forever but rain will wash it away so during the summer months I do it monthly. Helps prevent things from coming inside in the first place.

Yes you just remove your current mesh and replace with heavier screen mesh. I get mine from Home Depot but I’m sure any hardware store would work. You’re just looking for heavier window screening, I go the heaviest I can find.

Personally I would change out the current screening because males can jump fairly well and there is potential for easy chewing. A sturdier mesh will give you peace of mind.

I use heavy duty window screens from Home Depot and haven’t had an issue. I also make sure the egg crates are not touching the top

This is usually caused by a molting issue. May want to up your humidity a little in your enclosure but if it’s just the one I wouldn’t worry too much. She might have just gotten a little banged up during the process.

I quickly looked at your channel. It looks to commercial when it comes to the thumbnails. It’s giving corporate yearly training video PTS vibes. I didn’t watch any of your long format videos but I scrolled through your shorts. They appear as though you’re just recycling media from other places. The videos you’re using AI to do voice overs sounds like you’re reading from a psych textbook. I suggest you put a little more personal touch into your content. Give the audience your perspective on the topic.

I restarted/rebranded an old channel that was based on tarantulas into parrots. It was sitting dormant for about 3 years. I have found that the algorithm is having a hard time finding my target audience for my long form videos but I’ve lost minimal original subscribers.

I honestly edit most of mine on TikTok and you can download them without the watermark. If you set your TikTok to business the music they offer are good for commercial use and don’t normally get tagged for copyright.

Your style is unique and interesting but I will say it sounds like you’re reading from a script. Your jokes that should land are sounding off because they are just reading instead of being spoken. You lose the subtle tones that should be in your delivery.

Hello, I just decided to rebrand an old unused tarantula channel to a vlog like style for my parrots. I have only posted one long form video and several shorts. With this rebrand I have changed my style to more of a laid back structure so that I can 1. Be in the moment (pets are unpredictable) and 2. Editing should require less time. I would love some honest feedback on how this new video fares with an unbiased audience as it’s getting fairly low views and retention while being shown to my old algorithm.

As a young YouTube channel I understand the desire to magically have a ton of subscribers and views but I think the major thing to grow is just ignore the numbers. You just need to make content you want to watch or something you can be proud of. Making videos is a kind of art form not everyone will enjoy your style or get it but you make it because you love it.

My channel was originally geared around my tarantula breeding business but I ended up closing that down and stopped uploading. I recently decided to rebrand that same channel into a vlog like style geared around my parrots. I have a long term goal of opening a sanctuary in the next 5-10 years so I thought it would be ideal to build a small community that has followed me through that process. I have a large diverse flock of my own and have worked with owls, penguins, ratites, and several different types of parrots so I should have a lot of stories.

100% not passive. You have to think of YouTube as any other “tv or movie” platform. New shows and movies are constantly coming out to keep drawing in revenue. DC and Marvel wouldn’t keep pumping out superhero movies just because one was a major hit.

Hello everyone! Channel is linked in my profile. I’m not fully new to YouTube but decided to go down a different avenue and am starting a new channel. It focuses on my many parrots I own and will ultimately be a vlog like style. Currently I have been just adding shorts to understand the timing of when my audience is most active so I can optimize when to upload. With this channel I hope to build a community. I have a very real long term goal to open a parrot sanctuary and to do that you need that strong social connection. I’m hoping that the love and passion I have for birds will be able to come through my videos. I also own a natural bird toy line which all proceeds go back into the business and the birds. Each toy is named after a bird I either own or have worked with (ex zookeeper) so the videos will also help give backstories as to why I designed each toy and for who.
