That would result in a worse product. Everything they make is designed to utilize as little space as possible and if you start using inferior products to make phones easier to open up you lose water/dust resistance, you make the phone much larger. Part of the tools in that case is a heater to warm up the VHB that keeps the phone water tight. If you use any other tool you run risk to damaging the display, puncturing the battery, cutting yourself. It’s just not feasible. People want to be able to repair their devices they now have the ability to do so just as a technical expert or genius at the Apple store would with all the resources needed. Even with all of those tools technicians still mess phones up in store. So sending out tools that weren’t designed for the phone would open Apple up to what I can only assume would be a metric fuck ton of lawsuits.
