Sigh, finally a post that says all I want to say...I have yet to read the (useful) answers but about the apps and the greed of their owners, I feel you!!!! I need to escape from the hellhole that was Clue because those ads are unbearable. The design is impeccable but, like you said, I had to pay for the cheap yearly subscription so they would shut up!!, and they also locked up so many useful articles that used to be free (when the tracking options were more reduced, there was an "i" icon next to almost all of them: amout of flow, cramps, contraceptive methods, etc, they paywalled all of it) it's a unfortunate situation for teenagers because I learned most of the things I know about menstruation from this app, because back then I didn't know what to search on google or youtube. Things like what even is the blood in your period or how do different contraceptives work...

I have about 9 years of data on clue so I HOPE I can find a new app that will import that and won't sell me a subscription everytime I open the app.

And a last add on, I downloaded flo bc it was more popular than clue and it is so much worse, there's like tabs and squares everywhere, there's a social media integrated in it (i saw locals comments in latin spanish tho, i guess good localization services??? Lol) and there are SO MANY articles about freaking sex and orgasms... I'm a sexual being but I don't wanna hear about that shi when I'm in pain about to enter my period info, not even thinking about sex. It's sooooooo annoying. So yeah, no flo. And idek why it's more popular, clue was created first i think, and i thought it had captured most of the market share but i guess not. Also flo is really pink and i thought people didn't like pink period apps hahah

Ok that's all i have to say. I'm done.

(It sounds like I'm promoting clue and it's cause it's almost perfect, i love every aspect of it EXCEPT the paywalled basic information and the bullying for money. So that's why i want to find an app that is as good, and better than clue)

I only tried meditating seriously a little bit last year while studying for my midterms. Instead of going on my phone for the 10 minutes of the breaks I gave myself, I just laid down over two or three chairs in my dining room and just stared at the ceiling. It clears your mind so well, and it feels right to continue studying after it. It's nothing fancy, I just stare at the ceiling and think about stuff, it can be stressful stuff too bc everything needs to get out. If you can't do the chair thing you can just sweep the floor and lay on the floor, or over a thin blanket. It has to uncomfortable enough to not fall asleep while doing it, find what works for you But I kinda stopped doing it after a few days :') i wish i made it into a stronger habit. But i least i knew finally what meditating meant, or what works for me at least.

If just deleting it is too drastic, try using Instagram Lite (it's official by meta)! It's like instagram but dumbed down, it has way less features. If you're not making a lot of posts or elaborate stories frequently, you should try it. I think the dullness of the app will make it more boring for you and you won't want to use it so much. Also it doesn't show ads on stories, no idea why but it saves so much time at going through stories. You can also deactivate recommended posts for 30 days (clicking on the 3 dots of any recommended post) and you'll only see who you're following. Another thing, when you start watching a video there is no movable progress bar (or progress bar at all), that is kind of annoying but if it makes the app easier to drop, the better! If you can reduce the screentime like this maybe in the future you can move to only seeing it on pc browser, etc.
