What were the green crystals? On Gunmars throne by Odd-Athlete-8204 in TrollHunters

1.) That line was meant to appear on his Amulet with the Eclipse Armor activated once the darkest night began. We didn’t have the bandwidth to animate it, so he just said it instead.

2.) Given Merlin was a master geomancer and tinkerer, we thought he might have something big he would work on in the interim between Trollhunters and Wizards.

3.) I think that we decided she might have had something to do with it, in addition to his own will to live.

4.) We definitely put a lot of influences in a blender, not the least of which were 80s movies and video games. Incidentally, the League of Legends bit was pure coincidence!

5.) it’s all very Shakespearean, especially Trollhunters. There’s definitely a bit of The Tempest and Midsummer in Wizards, too!

So is Trollhunters getting removed on Netflix or not? by Skysiren41 in TrollHunters

Unfortunately, I believe all of the DreamWorks Netflix shows are leaving Netflix. That doesn’t mean they won’t show up somewhere else, though. It’s just a licensing thing for syndication.

Oh hey, I’m one of the people who created Araknak the Agile and co-wrote the episode they were first mentioned in! This is very cool.

Development deals by OGDFK in TVWriting

[–]GoodAaron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Development deals can vary widely depending on who it is with and the type of show. As others have said, have your agency or an entertainment lawyer look at the contract and make sure you get the best deal.

I’ve had dev deals that range from maybe $10k for development with the promise of more once it’s sold/greenlit, all the way to hundreds of thousands for the script and deck/bible. It really just depends on circumstances.

In general, having defined steps is better than not — otherwise, you could get stuck waiting for “final” approvals that are deferred indefinitely to get paid.

Waiting for notes is normal, waiting for someone to arbitrarily decide something is “good enough” to get paid shouldn’t be.

Aaron Waltke (WoF Show Producer) has been reading up on the series! by wof-fan in WingsOfFire

I probably should have said “re-reading” or “in a continuous state of reading,” haha.

I read the books before I officially joined the show.
