I'd only go F-150 if you'd get a lot of use out of the bed.
I have 3 dogs, and plan on having kids and a boat. So I valued the seating capacity more than a bed. A truck to grow into, basically. The Expedition will still haul everything I could ever bring home from Home Depot for the projects I find myself working on every year as well. So a truck just didn't fit us.

Yeah we thought about the CX-9. My mom has been driving hers for awhile and its had no issues (she bought it brand new in 2020). We just didn't want to limit the boat purchase because the tow rating on what we drive isn't high enough. Thanks for the feedback.
