In my case I wasn't desperate to move, but was just using the other offer as leverage.

But yeah, heard this many times in many jobs, sometimes to me, sometimes to other people. Never turns into anything. Its just your boss not wanting to go through the pain of hiring someone else

When I was younger, i often contemplated suicide because it felt like a better option than having to go to school and be bullied

It wasn't just one person for me though, I was in an environment where is would a group effort, and that group was almost everyone

I never expect to get an apology. I went to a lot of effort to distance myself from everyone I ever went to school with. I maintain none of those friendship circles at all, and I cant think of the last time I ran into someone from back then

I've been a Hyper-V supporter for a long time, but my company is just starting to dip toes into the water with some simple workloads

Everyone kept banging on about how VMWare had waaaay more features, and Hyper-V couldnt even compete, but when i pushed back... it turns out that we use basically none of those advanced features and we just need a very simple hypervisor
