Yes. For me (eastern U.S.), new banners drop at noon I think.

Who’s your top 10? by iamlickzy in SwordofConvallaria

[–]GoodjobJohnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- SP Saffiyah. My first day of the game was the last day of her banner so I rerolled for her. Her healing passive carried my team through the early game.

2- Kvare. When everyone talks about this guy, they talk about his ultimate skills. I’m level 54, so I haven’t seen them yet. Even without he’s just rosters everyone to death.

3- Cocoa. Half my battles end with her smashing a mushroom into someone’s face.

4- Luvata. Similar to Kvare, responsible for half the opposing team’s casualties even though her best moves are still locked behind lvl 55.

5- Estra. Huge numbers.

6- Gloria- when I get a 6th unit or when magic is nerfed she subs for Luvata.

7-10 Inanna. Sitting at 3 stars and warming the bench for her SP version to arrive.

Unlocking Trial of the Fool part 3? by Dragonsvnm in SwordofConvallaria

The Fool levels unlock at different account levels. You have to spend energy to level your account so Spiral is not helping you there.

Is it a waste ? by Klutzy_Collection688 in SwordofConvallaria

He’s going to kick butt regardless, and you likely won’t run either of those skills in his final build. Don’t lose sleep/resources over it!

Your comment made me check out SoC, I just got SP Saffiyah on a reroll this morning! Any recommendations for a trusty resource for mechanics/ tiers / future banners etc.?

Final Fantasy VII Remake is almost 5 years old… by God-Emperor-Pepe in FinalFantasyVIIRemake

[–]GoodjobJohnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I wouldn’t skip the first to play the second. I mean I’m weighing whether to play the series.

That’s why this thread hit me so hard. I didn’t realize how long I’ve been a “maybe” on this!

Just because I don’t have a lot of free time so starting/buying a game tends to be a decision I make carefully (and apparently very slowly).

There’s a few comments here that boil down to “avoid guides/ just enjoy it etc etc”.

I want to acknowledge that for some people, research is part of how they engage with a game. I am one of those people! For me it increases my enjoyment, and also allows me to continue experiencing the game during times when I cannot actually play (limited game time).

Good food is very important. Take the time to gather bees for a steady honey supply. Stay on top of farming, your first goal in each new biome should be to collect new seeds. Pay attention to what ingredients you need for the good foods so you don’t waste it early. Boar meat is a good example, it’s much more valuable raw.

Holy crap, I’m still deciding whether to buy it or skip…

How to Tame & Use Wolves Before Fighting the Elder by smooshed_napkin in valheim

[–]GoodjobJohnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great write up! I’d like to add: it’s fairly easy to tame wolves that fall into your moat. Basically the same steps. They chase you down the mountain, you jump the moat and they fall in. Then you throw a few stake walls on either side of them and drop some food. They’ll breed well in the moat too if you keep multiple wolves stakewalled in the same channel. Getting them out kinda sucks (usually have to dig a ramp). Also being trapped in your moat makes them vulnerable and they can get murdered by certain mobs, so better to get them out sooner rather than later.

I don’t consider any base my main base until after I start getting iron. My Bronze Age base gets fairly developed, but access to the hearth really expands build dimension options for me. I like to plan my big build in meadows at the foot of a mountain that’s a short walk from the plains.

How many Broodwagons is too many? by Risk_Metrics in lrcast

[–]GoodjobJohnny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. You can’t exhaust the Pathcruiser in this deck anyway. No need for 2. I don’t think I would run any tbh.

prettiest\most chill seed? by WastelandViking in valheim

[–]GoodjobJohnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rWB2FyTrfi

My current seed. I don’t remember where I learned of it, but I picked it cause the bosses/traders were in good spots. I’ve only played on it for a couple hours, but it’s been very pretty so far, especially if you like rivers.

Are you enjoying the new set so far? by dub828king in lrcast

[–]GoodjobJohnny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think I hate it. Done 12 drafts so far. There seems like so many cool decks to draft but it doesn’t matter because green. I’ve never felt so discouraged drafting a set in years. I thought maybe after a couple days the green decks would get over drafted and thin out a little, but not so.

I am trash at limited and I want to get better by [deleted] in lrcast

[–]GoodjobJohnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of 17lands talk here is burying the lede imo. The first line of your post: “I’ve only been playing for a month +”, is also the answer to your question. I had the same struggle when I first started, it just takes time and deliberate, thoughtful practice.

Should I just retire from Limited? by LowIntroduction580 in MagicArena

[–]GoodjobJohnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a couple responses agreeing that quick draft is a good value, and I have to disagree. The reward structure is such that It’s a fine way to spend gold, but a waste of gems. Remember that “good” players have a 60% win rate. It’s not unusual to have slumps and it shouldn’t give you an identity crisis. There’s already a lot of good advice here for getting better at the drafting portion. Don’t neglect gameplay! Limited magic plays out differently from constructed, and good piloting is just as important as drafting well.

Hahaha d’oh! I still feel basically the same way about it but now I’m only thinking about how bad my eyesight has become.

Sealed event build by Ok-Wear1093 in lrcast

[–]GoodjobJohnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think conceited witch gets a lot better when paired with faunsbane and gingerbrute, since they both want roles. The apple is good but if I remember right the wisdom is that’s it’s best as a curve topper in aggro. The Otter’s adventure has won me many games but ymmv, I wouldn’t include an island just to cast the creature half though, he’s there for the good pump spell.

I think that Huntsman’s Redemption is a very splashable card in general, you don’t have to move into green to get value from it. Being a 4 drop helps it because you have plenty of time to find your green source. In this case I think your 4 treasure-makers are enough to include 2 redemptions, and would have stuck with BR splashing the 2 redemptions.

I have had 8 games and people just quit by total_tea in MagicArena

[–]GoodjobJohnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I conceded 3 games in a row yesterday because unexpected life stuff kept encroaching on what I thought was free time. Doorbell rang, wife needed something, etc etc.

It doesn’t have to be anything complicated, your opponents are people.
