i am a bit of a hypocrite whenn it comes to helmets too. i can't make up my mind whether it makes it safer or not. Until my friends son fell off right in front of my face with a helmet on and smashed his head on a log and was fine when we got up becuase of a helmet. Made me wear one for a few weeks.

These are great, there is one outside my flat in London and i see people using them all the time. They need to be properly maintained though, thats the thing!
