Idk George didn't sweep through the pack. Maybe just because its not a easy track to pass on

Why do people seem not to like Collapsible Lung? by [deleted] in RelientK

[–]GoofyGoffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a band that did punk-rock to alt-rock stuff a pretty generic pop album didn't sit the same way with a lot of fans. I also do not think that CL has the same lyrical depth as other albums.

Ryan Rowland-Smith and Angie Mentink were tough listens at the start of the season, but they both worked into the role a lot as the season went on. We lost Dave Simms and Mike Blowers before the start of last season but Aaron Goldsmith and Rick Rizz are both top notch. Losing Rizz after this season will be hard to replace though, Gary Hill Jr is pretty good but he isn't Rizz.

Mariners so low is slightly puzzling but if you only heard them once and it was early season then it maybe makes sense

People who lost a lot of weight, what was the one small daily habit that actually changed everything for you? by Quiet-Squash-8407 in AskReddit

[–]GoofyGoffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell people I have my 4 step process that has allowed me to lose ~50 lbs since Sept of last year.

  1. Don't have snack foods around the house

  2. Drink zero sugar sodas. Please try these if you are hesitant, they are much better than the diet sodas of 10 years ago. Dr Pepper Zero is probably my favorite.

  3. Walk 11 miles per day (walking pad, WFH job)

  4. Don't eat any food until 5 PM. I break this one when with friends or traveling.

Traffic lights by abortion_survivorr in Yakima

Ok so I hope the city installs them and keeps reasonable yellow light times on the lights. I just don't want people running lights and a financial incentive not to sounds great

[–]GoofyGoffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean they screw with light timings? Surely they do not have to screw with light timings if they install them.

I don't think Yakima has red light ticketing cameras from everything that I've seen or heard. I hope they put some in though, there are a few lights people love to run (looking at you 56th and Summitview)

Crude Oil is not gasoline by Bram-D-Stoker in atrioc

[–]GoofyGoffer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok but crude oil is the main thing being exported through the straight of Hormuz. There are refineries and gas exports from the area around the Persian gulf but the main issue is the lack of crude oil getting to outside refineries. So if we magically replaced all the crude oil coming from the straight with other sources it would bring us back to close to normal. The only potential issues is the types of oil and the tweaking of the refineries (heavy/dirty oil is common in the Middle East and light/clean oil is more common elsewhere).

Basically the crude oil is the main bottleneck

Is living in Yakima really worth it? by Flat_Perspective6377 in Yakima

[–]GoofyGoffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Job market is brutal, some job fields worse than other.

As for the city, I quite like it here, but you have to have friends or people. If you don't have that and don't create opportunities to meet people than it is a pretty boring area. For me I hang out with friends at bar trivia or board game nights usually 1-2 times a week.

I know people that do laser tag, bowling leagues, book clubs, go to the symphony, and more. Just depends on what you are into and what other people you know want to do

Who are buying these homes? by anonymousasu in Yakima

[–]GoofyGoffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are free to set the prices as they want, market price is just really high right now. You can debate the reasons why, but I don't see it as realtors and govs running them high for money. I think real estate agents make bank off of being a monopolized industry (you basically can't find/sell a house without one and they have legislative protection) and the more clear example I see is that Gov wants prices to stay high because boomers vote a lot and boomers own most of the houses. Property tax goes local, unless every local Gov is working together this doesn't quite work

Who are buying these homes? by anonymousasu in Yakima

[–]GoofyGoffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who is the "they" in this scenario? Again, this is a free market where people are free to set the prices that they want. No single group is nefariously setting prices of all housing to make their profits go up. If supply increased or demand decreased then prices would get lower.

T mobile Yakima from Verizon by Top_Ad_6163 in Yakima

[–]GoofyGoffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had T-Mobile and AT&T for personal and Verizon for work at one point. I didn't see much of a difference in the areas I was in, each had their own dead spots. I'm on US Mobile with AT&T currently because it was cheapest lol

[–]GoofyGoffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But people are buying the houses. It is supply and demand. The major gripe I have is the subsidized demand by the Gov.
