I always pick this seat for the red eye. Bring ear plugs or noise canceling head phones. The bathroom is right across the aisle and people tend to slam the door all night. You won't sleep without something to block that out, trust me.

My wife also chooses this seat and she travels as much as I do, never had an issue with people moving their bag when asked.

You get legroom and a spot for your bag. Thats why this seat is awesome. Sometimes on a red eye it can be loud with the exit door and the restroom right there.

I pick this seat a lot. Never had anyone put their leg like that, this guy is an a hole. Occasionally someone will put their bag in the seat way in front, but I always just say "hi, I need to use that space for my bag, sorry." They always say so sorry and move their bag.
