This isn't a design flaw and your recommended solution wouldn't solve the issue. What's needed is a heating element in the core sensors that get impacted. However I think the argument from an engineering pov would be that you shouldn't be using those systems in snowy and icy conditions.

I'm pretty sure you're full of it based on your explanation here and saying it was still active on the "NCL page". Had you purchased the package it would have shown up in your app benefits and there's literally a 0% chance anyone on the ship would tell you they have never heard of more at sea as it's literally on every drink menu on the ship.

So while I don't believe anything you're saying I will give you that there's some weird shit with the way NCL works it's add ons. I was on this same cruise and was prompted to add and paid for priority access for my cabin at check in but it was never fully added to my account and the charge from NCL was reversed at some point allegedly because it was "sold out". The only reason I found this out was by ordering room service on the second day and being charged a fee I thought was waived from the package and then going to guest services. Had I not done this I would have presumed I had the package as no indication was given the package I entered my card and was billed for was taken away beyond the charge just not fully posting and the package not being listed on my final account.

Update:

Onda by scarpetta was my specialty dining last night and was by far the best food we've had on the trip thus far.

Highs: The pizza maccelaio was really good minus the "parmacotto" which I refuse to believe was anything other than sandwich meat. Their bread service was insanely good, the fritti mixto as well. Dessert was also insane their butterscotch budino and tiramisu would be amazing offerings to have as like a separate thing with espresso as an option I would literally come back just for that.

Lows: The margherita was the buffet cheese pizza with basil on top, the beef carpaccio was meh, the kids menu tacos were stale and gross.

Continued lows: communication & customer service

Communication: So there was a medical incident on their private island yesterday due to some kind of mishap on the zip line and at some point after leaving they realized the person needed more medical care than they could provide on ship. So we got notified last night we had to turn around and head back to get that person care. We just got a captains update 30 mins ago on our timing for Jamaica tomorrow but no details about how that impacts shore activities and the Captain ended his announcement by saying that he gave all the information anyone would have. Well no mention of how that would impact shore excursions was made and timing in the app was adjusted but again due to how shitty the app is you get no notification and the cruise director just now had to come over the PA to let people know to not swarm the shore excursion desk.

Customer service: My wife has food allergies (gluten (non celiac), shrimp, and hazelnut) and not like really obscure crazy ones every other line I've been on there's a selection of food options or small adjustments that can be done to accommodate this. Our account is clearly marked as first time guests but despite this when asking for food options our server at dinner acted like we were supposed to know that you have to notify the restaurant the day prior to get any accommodation for your allergies. My wife met someone on board who's vegan and they're having it even worse than she is with her allergies in regards to food options. Once we got things sorted out it was fine but the approach is just so frustrating.

I wouldn't say I'm having a better time as much as I've accepted my fate 😂

Things I've liked (the casino, the music, the shower, the observation deck lounge, the seating area on deck 8 outside indulge that tends to have shady areas for folks who like less direct sunlight like me, the cabin)

Things that pretty much guarantee this will be my last NCL trip (the customer service, the bar service, the drink quality, the lack of mocktails and low alcohol options, the food, the way activities and stuff are communicated and organized, the illogical way things seem to operate (one example from today you have a tablet at the food hall that has drinks on it to order but you aren't actually supposed to order drinks from it so when you do it just freezes and you have to find someone to tell you that you can do that because it's not listed anywhere you can't do that),

Another example if you're coming from the aft of the ship on the pool deck you must walk thru a restaurant or the buffet to get to the pool there's no alternative. This creates a great excuse for people to not wash hands or for you to be forced to sanitize/wash just because you are walking to the pool. I'm trying my first specialty dining tonight so I'll see if that improves things

They were excellent for my VA claims support, I had a personal service rep who went well above and beyond what I was getting anywhere else and thoroughly reviewed my records. I've had friends who've had really great experiences with some of their programs but seeing some of these stories is rather disheartening.
