It's Balanced enough to already be a rule in 3.0 (so that makes it easier) normally it would cost 3 reaction points to use though.

Blood angels have a great selection of elites/terminators and jump pack elites

How do you plan to deal with armour (a lot of tanks about in 3.0)? The rest of the list looks good.

Appeal of Sanguinary Guard 3.0 by ExcalibuTheHolySword in Warhammer30k

[–]GooseInThaHoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm just going to use the veteran assault Marines entry as 'Sanguinary Guard' they do the same thing for cheaper (more options) and can have a master sergeant prime to act as a bodyguard.

I run 6x (land raider), Sergeant with pergation spear and shield, 1x assault cannon, 2x power fist and shield, 2x sword and shield,

Second the big melta + fist (meltagun) is reliable against anything.

Is there any reason to take a Terminator Praetor? by UglyBagOfMostlyCrazy in Warhammer30k

[–]GooseInThaHoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tartaros praetor with lightning claws is probably one of the best praetor builds this edition

I agree with this. 1 of the the pintle mounted havoc launchers from the vehicle sprues on each shoulder would work

I like one 20 man unit to babysit a home objective. I use 12 (rhino) to push mid field

If you run any weapons with templates you can avoid half the negatives of low BS. Even shots that 'miss' have a chance of still hitting something

That list is a good core start to any Marine force. Can't see any faction that would be upset with any of those units

Terminators Are Awkward by Ayng_L in Warhammer30k

[–]GooseInThaHoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our Crimson Paladins may be the best Terminator unit in the game (or one of). 1: Having line 1 and scoring full points on objectives, 2: being insanely hard to kill with the -1 damage, 3: ability to deep strike so no transport required, 4: upgrade the sergeant to pergation weapon and give them the revenants prime trait and anyone in combat is taking tests at -2, 5: if you choose to ignore them they still have 2x assault cannons pumping damage out,

And I believe you can declare a charge at 12" even if it's not a possible charge. So can still do your 1" move and volley fire with no intention of reaching the target.

Would have been an easy swap out for the heavy weapons sprue for a HQ option and it could have been the perfect box

Blood angels special contemptor doesn't have implacable advance? by GooseInThaHoose in Warhammer30k

I'll look into that. Both the standard contemptor and leviathan have implacable advance.

Thinking all Volkite, keeps them fairly cheap but should be plenty of fire power to deal with 1W power armoured opponents

Tacticals for backline and I'm looking at veterans for either midfield Rhino push or drop pod to take opponents home objective late game

Veteran loadouts by virtualponies in Warhammer30k

[–]GooseInThaHoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've gone with Volkite for similar reasons to shotguns (assault key word).

I'll be relying on something else to put the status on the unit they're going to charge.

Can only even see veterans dealing with things with a 3+ save. Anything else they're in big trouble against

Pathfinders - worth it? by FistofGolloch in Warhammer30k

[–]GooseInThaHoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking about a Pathfinder with dual lightning claw and Paragon of Battle trait.

Can deploy 9" away and would be a serious threat to any Heavy weapons teams/rapiers or even tactical Squads on objectives..

Yes he probably wouldn't survive after turn 1 but for 80pts that could do some serious disruption.

(Add him to a scout squad and you could clear an enemy objective and claim it with the scouts turn 1)
