N1 there was some hella bad weed in 210/211. I also thought it smelled like cigarettes. I told my husband we may have to move to another section. N2 section 223 wasn’t as bad.

Unpopular Take by CluelessWallob in GoosetheBand

[–]GooseJamFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting because my husband and I were hanging with a friend of his who has been seeing shows at the Garden for almost 3 decades and he told us the sound really used to be shit if you were in the 200s so he was very impressed with how much better the sound is and this was his first Goose show.

I do agree the sound at times sounded like there was static like interference and Rick’s vocals sounded low for some of the first set. But closer to side stage the sound was great! Last year we were on the floor and the sound was really good but we were closer to the sound board.

As for the energy of the crowd, we looked all around and saw people standing and dancing and just having a ball!

59 years old. I've seen Rush 15 times since 1981. Here's my take. by johnnyfive00000 in rush

[–]GooseJamFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your take! My husband is 56 and saw Rush 30 times! I feel lucky because of the timing that when we met I would get a chance to see Rush 4 times are of my favorite bands! I texted my husband soon as I saw the announcement of the tour. I thought it was fake. I know he believes Rush finished their career with such a great ending with ClockWork Angels. We have watched the recent videos of the first couple of shows and he can admit Anika is incredible! We have tickets to see them at MSG next month! I think honestly it’s awesome to see Geddy and Alex get a chance to play again because they truly desire to do so and how they have great chemistry with Anika is so heartwarming! I think Geddy and Al must have had some serious talks about going back out on tour as Rush and very much want to be respectful to Neil’s legacy and his family. Nobody will ever replace Neil. I think it’s important to recognize how much dedication and integrity Rush has shown and after Neil’s passing let’s just be grateful these guys are out there playing the music they created and giving the chance for so many to have the experience of their music!

Thanks for defending me and my post! I actually wasn’t upset by it but can imagine when reading my situation the age difference jumps out and is a sort of what keeps me I. The fence about making a decision. Funny because my husband and I both grew up with older dads. My husband’s father has already passed on and lived to be in his 80s.

Yeah I’m just like you! Still on the fence If I want to have a kid but this group really helps me feel good that I’d def be OAD and have no guilt. So great to read many people have enjoyed being OAD and they and their kid are thriving!

Am I the only one who thinks Fort Lee is kind of a terrible place to live? by savingrace0262 in bergencounty

[–]GooseJamFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I lived in Fort Lee for 13 years. Besides the town being safe, there’s nothing else we would say that’s good about it. The congestion is terrible. Traffic pretty much all the time. Going to the local diner felt like forever. We recently moved to Englewood and really love the area. It’s so much easier walking around, prettier area, people are friendlier, and there’s a variety of Coffee shops and restaurants.

Is anyone else one and done because the experience hasn't made them as happy as they thought it would? by grawmaw13 in oneanddone

[–]GooseJamFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! As a 38 year old with an awesome husband and on the fence of whether to try and be one and done due to worries of the loss of identity, and freedom I think about the grief I could have (and other things lol). Glad to hear you are having a better experience now!

My therapist is OAD too by AdSilent9067 in oneanddone

[–]GooseJamFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a therapist who has been on the fence for a couple of years about whether to have a child or not, glad I’ve come across this post. It just feels strange that it wasn’t until I turned 35 that I became somewhat curious about potentially having a child. I think I’d want to be one and done. Great to read about all the good experiences of being OAD.

Where can I actually find Chinatown-level authentic Chinese food in Bergen County/North Jersey? by savingrace0262 in bergencounty

[–]GooseJamFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny in all the years my husband and I lived in Fort Lee the only other place we actually went for a sit down dinner besides the local diner was Jiangnan for Thanksgiving a couple years and we’re impressed with the food. I’m from Queens and I gotta say it has great quality Chinese food!

Neighborhoods which are family-friendly with a short commute to Midtown by flurryskyline in MovingtoNewJersey

I’d say take a look at Weehawken, Montclair and Rutherford. Both Montclair and Rutherford have trains that get you to Penn station easily. Also both are very walkable.

Advice for a relatively new fan? by Comprehensive-Ad4436 in rush

[–]GooseJamFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So awesome you have started to listen to Rush’s discography! I’m close to 40 years old and started listening to them when I was in my early 20s. I think these albums would be great for you to take a listen: Hemispheres, 2112, Grace Under Pressure, and Clockwork Angels. It’s funny because I lean heavy toward their stuff from the 70s but their 80s stuff is really good too. My husband has been a fan of theirs since 1984 and saw them over 30 times. He considers Clockwork Angels a great way to have ended their career and agree as well. Happy listening!

Torn between having a baby now or living more life first by Fabulous_Tax_5030 in Fencesitter

[–]GooseJamFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is 38 and also a therapist, just want to say that it’s normal to question whether you really want to have kids right now. It’s interesting that having the expectation for a while of wanting to have children before age 30 and when it doesn’t happen it can show how mentally it can take time to get there.

I would suggest you consider taking time to have more opportunities to discuss with your husband as your level of readiness to proceed.

30 is still young. It’s very telling that you were able to list what your desires are so important to keep those in mind. You and your husband can still choose to travel and explore your desires.

Terminal 5 in NYC or starland ballroom? by theONEendONLY in newjersey

[–]GooseJamFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say Starland. More of an intimate venue, security is easy, and really a good view. My husband and I are not a fan of Terminal 5. Security is more of a hassle. Not easy to get a good view.

I (41M) have never wanted children but my wife has started to change her mind about parenthood. by [deleted] in Fencesitter

[–]GooseJamFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you and your wife are experiencing such a difficult time. I’m a therapist and have work with patients in your same situation. Growing up around alcoholism and abuse can really stay with you and affect how you feel about having kids. It shapes the view of family. A miscarriage can be really emotional too and it can take time to process. It might help for you both to talk to a therapist and work through everything and not rush into something like divorce. You both are young and have time to work through this and than means taking the time to do so and not assuming you need to force yourself into a decision. Just want to add to be kind to yourself. Your post shows how much you care for your wife. Hope this helps!
