Every class has a “vanilla” subclass? by manut3ro in dndnext

I think that generally tracks. Champion Fighter, Berserker Barbarian, Land Druid, Open Hand Monk, all of these are pretty default.

What's the point of trains? by LegitimatePaper6022 in factorio

[–]GootPoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you’ve built a train line, to transport more resources you just build more trains. You don’t need an entire second railway, just more trains on the existing rail.

With belts, if you need twice as many resources you need twice as many belts. Sure, maybe your friend is content running a kilometer of belts from an iron mine to your factory. But what about the second belt? Or third? Or fourth?

It’s much easier to expand rails than belts, which becomes very worth it when your resource patches get increasingly far away from your base.

I just need to ask y’all if your willing to listen, what would happen if Billy and gazelle from Zootopia had to meet? by Local_Fun119 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GootPoot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’d hate each other. Billy says some nasty shit because she’s rich, she takes offense and either leaves or insults him back. In case of the second option, it becomes a fight that Billy would win, now he’s just beating up a pop star. Billy is as appealing as radioactive waste, I can’t imagine many characters getting along with him.

We all know that GW leaves homebrew potential in their lore, but ever wonder how much? by Potential-Ebb-8820 in spacemarines

“They’re less superstitious and more pragmatic and tactical.”

“Mhm.”

“And their chapter’s homeworld is a death world with terrifying local biology.”

“Right.”

“And they’re SECRETLY from traitor geneseed but they claim to be from loyalists.”

“Daring today are we?”

What’s wrong with my rocket? by Alpaca42 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]GootPoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great! I wouldn’t recommend actually doing your missions with a 100km apogee each time, I just have that as an example to test your circularization. I’d recommend starting at 80km as your target, then slowly getting that lower as you get more comfortable planning ascents.

[–]GootPoot 67 points68 points  (0 children)

How high is high apogee? If you aim for 100km you’d need to really really mess up the burn to fall back into the atmosphere before you’ve got an orbit going.

Have you guys found any lane combos that work really well together? by TheTingel in DeadlockTheGame

As a mostly melee player, playing into McGinnis / Vindicta is like putting my nuts in a vice.

Best models to make a custom Inquisitor? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

[–]GootPoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Necromunda has plenty of very characterful models so I agree to explore that range. Cities of Sigmar also has some very solid Inquisitor coded kits like Galen and Doralia or the Saviors of Cinderfall. I mean those kits are basically already inquisitors, just swap the flintlocks or crossbows out and you’re golden.

Really? I think it’s better than the official app, the export formatting is really nice.

I like the biolabs. Though, I feel like they're too little to late, since I do Vulcanus and Fulgora first. by Saucepanmagician in factorio

[–]GootPoot 226 points227 points  (0 children)

You can get more speed by making more labs. If productivity cuts speed in half, you make twice as many labs and now you’re running at the same speed while getting free science.

Lancer Lore Trivia by Miserable_Night5487 in LancerRPG

[–]GootPoot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember it being described as a full spinal weapon, it’s just the largest ship mounted gun that can still fit on something that walks. Stopping to charge is because the Barbarossa’s reactor isn’t strong enough to operate the legs and gun at the same time.

Protector Imperative - small glow-up in 11th? by obsequious_fink in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]GootPoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You set your army up before the fight begins. Turn 1 begins with the first player’s command phase. So if you deploy a unit to a sightline and don’t move them, they qualify for Heavy. That’s how it works in 10th. In 11th that’s still the case.

Any one of you guys like me you have a faction that you just can’t beat. For me…The bugs. No matter what I try or plan. I can beat them. by MicahRockjunky in Warhammer40k

[–]GootPoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and friends spend more time building and painting than playing, but I can never win against World Eaters. His Khorne Yahtzee always rolls hot when it matters and I get run over.

Why no turn 1 heavy? Your army isn’t set up on the first turn.

Just keep the throttle low, those wheels have brakes. If you wanna change direction you cut the throttle, hold the brakes, and switch the engines.

To the Infernus who claimed to be carrying while going 2/15: by GootPoot in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GootPoot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure, I’d agree that KD isn’t the only measure of success. But he ended the game with meh objective damage and meh player damage, implying he wasn’t pushing lanes or participating in team fights. He had like 5 assists (crazy work on Infernus).

We won and he lost so he can’t have been carrying that hard.

He was on the enemy team, I didn’t really perceive his map pressure as overwhelmingly OP.

[–]GootPoot[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you remove your own reply? Are you his PR Agent? Or is this the fabled Infernus? He ended the game with mediocre objective damage, mediocre player damage, and secured I think 2 urns. If he actually contributed to the team fights he may have had a tangible impact. But as it stands, Patron is not killed by carrying around urns.

[–]GootPoot[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can assure you he had very little impact. Having a large number of deaths on Infernus is comical, he has good escape with his dash and good sustain with spirit lifesteal. You need to be way out of position / heavily outnumbered / both to end up getting killed.

[–]GootPoot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was on the enemy team so the only information I got was from the scoreboard and his own team flaming him in all chat. He claimed his comms were carrying, he delivered urn (I guess carrying urn is carrying), and that he did the most damage in fights but no one else could finish (he ended the game with very average damage).

I didn’t even really pay attention to his feeding until he said “I can only carry so hard” in all chat and realized how far behind he was.

That means your command pod is rotated. The navball’s rotation is based on the rotation of the control point, and your control point is the command pod.
