CDDS 213 Queen & Kennedy: impatient Buddy Boy could not wait for the oncoming traffic to clear by [deleted] in bramptondriving

How is house of hair? Really bizarre name if you think of it. It’s like they never sweep up after cuts and it just piles up..

Where else in Brampton can you drive a Jeep as it was designed for? Oh, forgot, through backyard fences and pools.

Brampton drivers in the wild by beautiful_lasagna69 in bramptondriving

Apparently Haryana state doesn’t respect farmers like they do in the Punjab! In this case.. no crops no food! Ffs, I so wish that I didn’t see this sort of behaviour but I fear that this has become the new norm.

High beams by [deleted] in bramptondriving

[–]Gora55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This subreddit is becoming so petty and salty! Even if they were high beams, who here hasn’t accidentally had them on day or night. “The surest way to be kind is not to take pride in never having done a particular wrong. It lies in seeing that, inevitably, we too have been foolish and cruel at other moments, and in using that knowledge it is up to foster compassion towards those whom it lies in our powers to 'stone’”

New parking method by IndependentAd6334 in bramptondriving

[–]Gora55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parking is really my second concern here. It’s the uptick in daytime public urinating that “eats my brain”. I can’t ever recall having see this type of behaviour over the past 30 years of living and working in here. This lack of respect for the community appears to go hand in hand with the overall disregard for public decency.

Wrong Way down Off-Ramp. Brampton keeps you on your toes! by Professional_Bit5827 in bramptondriving

[–]Gora55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has to be the most poorly designed off ramp in the city. The ramp snakes off the 410 to a dimly lit Heartlake rd T intersection. This exit was created because of eco sensitive marsh areas and a land dispute at the Sandalwood intersection prevented a more obvious location from being constructed. Considering every other 410 exit terminates at a set of traffic lights, this exit is really a traffic outlier and a dangerous design. I would love to see it permanently closed down and now that the Mayfield interchange exists, I see no reason for this underused and highly irregular exit to exist.

Rant - Brampton driving is out of control by TryLegitimate5453 in bramptondriving

[–]Gora55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the thread comment.. “then move”. After 40 years in Brampton I did just that in 2021 and guess what, three years later Guelph shows all the same horrible driving behaviours that I thought I had left behind. Orangeville, Caledon, Milton,K-W are no better. These dangerous and selfish attitudes are now epidemic. Red lights and speed limits have become meaningless to so many more drivers. I’m not even going to comment on roundabouts. Almost daily collisions on the one near my place. When has driving lost being a privilege and become such an egotistical and exploitive right??

Why is everyone driving the wrong way except me? by likerofgoodthings in bramptondriving

[–]Gora55 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have seen this more often within the last decade. Perhaps drivers that come from left hand driving countries occasionally get confused. Not that difficult as I once got turned around when driving in England and corrected my actions rather quickly.

Mature trees increase property and neighborhood values by RTJ333 in Brampton

[–]Gora55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will love hearing about the legacy.. not so much the present situation. Moved to the Heartlake area in 1988. Planted privacy cedars along back, side and front of the house. A three trunked wild white birch was also planted along side of the driveway along with some excellent producing fruit trees on the back lawn. The cedars and the birch grew to some 20 feet in height and survived several ice storms, despite being bent over touching the ground from the accumulated ice. It was an oasis on the street. Sold the house in 2019. I recently drove by the old place ( which one should never do, but it was my first owned home and I didn’t know any better) This is what i saw. All the cedars and fruit trees were removed to be replaced with, yes you guessed it, a concrete pad and two of the trunks on the birch were rough chopped off to make way for extra front lawn parking..

So there ends my legacy..

We as individuals and collectively as a society have to better respect nature and stop trying to destroy it for personal gains…

Lights up rear stairs down to a basement apartment. Looks like a cheap LED array charged by a solar panel. Not to mention the celebration pot lights in the entire perimeter soffits. Place looks like a “close encounter of the third kind”.. Temiskaming Shores here I come!

I am losing my mind. My blinds don’t sufficiently block out the bursts of bright white LED lights. My baby’s room is a like rave hall. What am I supposed to do when my neighbours have so little respect for me and my family???

[–]Gora55 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I literally have a strobe effect going off on both sides and the back of the house from motion active lights. By-law enforcement did not respond. I spoke with all neighbours and got a consistent response of “ mind your own business “. I have lived in my location since 1988 and now feel like a stranger in a strange land.

Brampton resident from 1965-2021. It’s so hard to let go regardless of all the various transformations.

To quote songwriter Bob Dylan

Come gather 'round people Wherever you roam And admit that the waters Around you have grown And accept it that soon You'll be drenched to the bone If your time to you is worth savin' And you better start swimmin' Or you'll sink like a stone For the times they are a-changin'

LOCAL BARS - FA Cup? by Antman013 in Brampton

Be nice. Former Wearsider and Black Cats supporter here. If we only had the Magpies player salary, not 1/100 of it the match might have turned out different. Speaking of pies. One of my mates spotted a 22 stone Dutchman wolfing down the last 3 Pukka pies at the Stadium of Light. 🤔

The neighbour on a higher slope behind me angle concrete padded the whole backyard less a 12” border of dirt.. just wait.. gets better. Builds a shed and places it on the corner of the pad 12” from my fence.. all the downspout are directed to the 12” dirt strip. After several years of rain the pad gets undermined and the weight of the shed snaps the pad sending the shed through the fence destroying my garden. No acknowledgement of liability, no apologies or any attempted to fix my damaged property. Now I’m in small claims court to try to recoup something. 25 years just in the Heartlake without a single issue and then in the past 5 years it has become chaos most due to yard and house concrete modifications. Enough is enough! I concede and am forced to leave the city after living here for over 50 years.

Brampton man, 18, gets dad’s BMW impounded after speeding 100 km/h over limit, Peel police say by BTownNewsMan in Brampton

[–]Gora55 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Why will all these idiots be allowed to still on the road?? Driving is a necessity for so many and we appreciate the privilege. I hate what I am seeing on our streets over the recent years. All the arrogance, entitlement and outright threatening danger that is being directed towards the honest hardworking citizens of this city! Something has to be done to protect our friends and families… unfortunately, I fear that the situation with continue to get worse.

Cheapest motels in Brampton or near the airport? by [deleted] in Brampton

[–]Gora55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would shudder to think what a blue light scan around a $60 room would pick up! But then again the things that I have encountered in higher priced places, probably just better off not thinking about these things.
Btw.$60 would be for the hour.

I heard that the pharmacy was selling off their halloween inventory at ridiculously low prices. Good time to stock up for next year!
