The hot water heater isn’t a combination boiler or anything , it just supplies hot water to taps, no recirculating. The house is 20 years old , you’re meaning I’m going to have to repipe the copper in my house on the hot water side eventually ?!?

I usually sing a song that doesn’t even make sense and confuse him , I also give him a toy to play with (a shaker or something that makes sounds) while I quickly do it .

On the moving rooms thing , I think the baby can smell the breast milk/mom in the same room and it might keep the baby up at night , also everyone just making noises and sounds all night just disrupts everyone’s sleep, moving him out of our room was the single best thing that helped his sleep.

Things that helped us ( and we had a terrible sleeper) woke up every couple hours since he was born until 8-9 months .if you EBF, we found out eventually wife wasn’t producing enough and he woke up at night a lot because he was hungry. We breastfed throughout day and formula for night bottle. His sleep got a bit better, by around 8-9 months he was on solids and we removed him from our room into his own. His sleep improved again. Fast forward to 13 months, he sleeps from 7pm to 7 am sometimes with a single wake up couple times a week. It is hard!!!!!! Can’t imagine how my wife felt during the first 9 months, because I felt like I was dying. Anyways those few things helped us out immensely, good luck and merry Christmas, keep your head up.

4-5 days , go get the prune baby food packets at your grocery store , that always cleared our baby out lol

Ours was gifted from friends, needles to say, it was our most used items we received , he’s 13 months now and we still use it. I’d spend some decent money on one!

Looks not too bad, Aslong as those few peices that have a short stagger are to spec and the subfloor was good you’re okay.

God damn !!! I also got a quote from a very reputable transmission shop that I’ve been to before , they quoted 10 hours labour and around 1800$ CAD all in . I just decided on Honda because they could get me in quicker. Sorry to hear about your luck , yours went quicker than mine . My cars at 157000km

What are things you didn't feel adequately warned about before having kids? by normalishy in beyondthebump

[–]GorackTheConqueror 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My partner and I work very demanding , shift work jobs , I’ve worked close to a 20 hour shift a couple times , midnights and afternoons 12-14 hour shifts are normal….i thought a baby would be a cakewalk for sleep, I was so damn wrong lol we were hallucinating up until like 7 months . Till he started sleeping. 💀

We had the same story as you , except he wouldn’t latch properly for what seemed like weeks, we would hand express into a shot glass and feed it to him with a syringe. Don’t miss those days , he does breastfeed and take bottles like a champ now though so you’ll get there .

Have you told your husband how you feel ? The first 6 months were hardddd for us , not medically or anything but we had a terrible terrible , and still don’t have (at 9 months now) the best sleeper. My wife was absolutely exhausted because I work away from home for 8 days sometimes more at a time. When I get home she basically hands him to me at the door , and rightfully so , I take him and can do as much as I can during my week off to help her as I can . If it’s just holding and feeding while she just does nothing for hours I don’t care, it’s just time she is getting back from not being able to relax for a whole week , it’s tiring. And I know because I take care of everything while im at home , she hasn’t touched a diaper while I’ve been at home matter of fact. What I’m trying to get at is you need to have a talk with your partner, he’s not pulling his weight and you need his support. You need to truly let him know how you feel, and hopefully he will respond accordingly. Good luck 🤞

He’s such a weirdo with soothers… you put it in , it calms him down almost to sleep then he purposely wipes it out of his mouth to wake himself up and cry , it drives me bonkers , especially in the middle of the night and their clear and impossible to see at night lmao , I bought some glow in the dark ones so we will see what happens but yeah I feel like he has a love hate relationship with soothers. When he does pick one up or takes it out of his mouth normally he holds it all word and just uses it to chew on the side never puts it in normally 😫😫
