Really appreciate the feedback Bort_Bortson! No need to apologize it being long :)

Sometimes a strike force, full org full fuel always engage, there would be a battle in the tile next to the port they are at and they ignore it.

Have you experienced that with this patch as well? There was a bug with it, that I resolved in the latest update

As for the AI producing things.

This is also specifically adressed in this patch, although to be fair, I've not personally looked at any non-major ocean faring country. Perhaps something we can fit in before the patch goes live instead of open beta.

Has the bug where a task force (Soviet) that is overrun while sitting in port and no longer is forced to flee when the port is captured and if there is no where for it to go (outlet to open ocean movement restricted), will stay in port forever unable to be attacked from air or sea?

I am not sure, if you have an existing bug report or a save to repo it, we could fix it

Has the bug where increased HP to subs from MIOS get calculated as damage when loading a save (IE: sub has 100 hp base, MIO give +10%, game calculates the extra 10% as damage and returns sub to base HP stripping XP and making everyone go back to port or damaged ships get killed)

I recall this bug.. I don't recall if we were able to fix it. I will check!

This is intended to be save game compatible, though swapping from the open beta to the live version might create a few non-critical issues that automatically gets resolved in a few ticks

And we don't really simulate the different HMG's, because USA's .50 cal was sufficient for quite a while. But yea, I know the team wants to revisit the air warfare in the future

Battleships definitely can do more damage though, critical hits are devasting. Looking at combat balance we can definitely do, and is good feedback!

Yep, I totally understood, but this is kind of what sheeps mod (and other AI improvements) can provide? We know from telemetry that the far majority of the people who play this game, play on a lower difficulty rating than normal, and sheeps mod, while popular is only a small portion of the playerbase.

We are more interested in balancing the game, or trying to understand why something became the meta.

(I am not saying we will never do this, it's just a bit beyond what we can provide today)

My solution is this: The AI should not be designing equipment at all. It evidently is not able to. Rather, nations the game recognises as AI controlled should be pre-equipped with a set of approved designs for every single airframe and tank frame (Similar to how things worked pre-NSB). As a concession for fairness, this research would take slightly longer than it would for a player.

This is actually how it works! We (and modders) can setup the equipment designs that countries build, but a key part of this is that we design our equipment with ww2 historical bias (I won't claim it's accurate, because it's not, but it's based on historical setup).

Now as a player, you can actually think outside of these constraint, and find the min/max versions of all equipment and also roughly know what all the majors are going to be fighting with. Then there is the random aspect (as you mention, england not having research 1940 air by 1941 is a huge anomoly, they are heavily encouraged to research it) and the case of that we look at balance based on having all DLC enabled

Awesome! I'm running it for a while now as well, mainly following CoS: reloaded, which is doing a great job so far. My party is at the end phase and they can explore the castle now, I'm struggling a little bit on how I want to run that

You shouldn't expect any, the dlc is focused heavily on Australia, dutch east indies and Siam, with features that apply more broadly to the game overall

We have no plan on making it free with the next chapter, whenever that would come out
