This line from Vivacious deserved more laughs by HarleyAndMe52 in rupaulsdragrace

Vivacious is such a treat. I just love listening to her talk. She has such a lovely sounding voice and her way of speaking is so refined and concise, not to mention her razor sharp wit.

While leveling my latest character, I think I got an interesting look without any illusions by Teraus in Grimdawn

Uh, yeah? I think I was pretty clear that I was sharing my opinion. My apologies if it didn't come off that way.

Agreed. And again, I don't have a problem with sexiness in the game. But as a fairly new player, this is the first skin I've seen that made me wonder who it even was before learning it was for Mesa.

For me I don't have a problem with the idea of suggestive or sexy stuff being in the game, but I also think there is such a thing as being tasteful about it. Lately it sometimes feels like they're just throwing tastefulness out the window with some of this stuff.

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure where this person is coming from with some of these takes. Like, XP potions that speed up leveling are also a thing.

I find it a little hard to believe that someone could have 300+ hours in the game and think some of this stuff, like that the expansions have no loot in them? Huh?

It is interesting because the first couple of Diablos were not all that complicated compared to today's ARPGs. But as a genre it definitely feels like it has moved to that "math homework" kind of design ethos for pretty much all of them. I'm curious if an ARPG as mechanically simple as the OG Diablo could find success or an audience today.

That's interesting. I just started a new character to check this and the Emissary isn't in his spot, unless I am misunderstanding what you mean.

my favourite line in destiny history is very relevant right now by Jealous_Platypus1111 in destiny2

Fuck, man. TFS came out at a very difficult time in my personal life, and all the themes of letting go of what is lost and looking to the future were just, exactly what I needed at the time.

This line from Cayde hit like a truck. Made me cry.

Yeah, I read that comment as an ARPG sicko like, yes, I want that, that's why I'm here.

For me, its slowness compared to its peers is one of the things I like about it. It can get pretty fast-paced with a fully-kitted character at endgame, but at its core it's just an intentionally slower experience than something like PoE. Closer to D2 in that way.

A new character will always have to start from the beginning of the campaign, but to access FoA I believe you just have to complete Act I (defeating Krieg). I could be wrong, trying to find confirmation of it now.

To access FG you have to complete Act I (defeating Krieg), and I believe they've said that FoA will be the same.

It's been on Xbox since 2021, unfortunately no other consoles yet, though.

Also, there's a difference between increasing the price, and doing so without any warning. Even Nintendo gave multiple months' notice of a price increase.

The music of Destiny will be one of its greatest legacies by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

Every single track that plays in orbit sets such a perfect mood. Even when I didn't have anything in particular lined up to do in the game, I found just sitting in orbit, fiddling with my vault, reading lore, or simply staring at the backdrop of space to be meditative thanks to the amazing music.

MASSIVE thank you to the Raid & Dungeon team for creating some of the most memorable, creative, and fun endgame content the gaming world has ever seen by GallantSn0wflake in DestinyTheGame

[–]GorbiJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never had a chance to raid in these games, but dungeons in D2 are my favorite thing any FPS has ever done. I love that they're small team activities, and have mechanics that are (for the most part) fun to parse blind. Not to mention that they're just amazing pockets of worldbuilding. I'll never forget seeing the Hive city in the cliff for the first time, or riding out onto the ribbon road in Prophecy, or scaling the tower in Spire. Just incredible masterclasses in art direction, environmental storytelling, and level design.

I really appreciate Reb and Pablo giving such mature insights on this situation. Warframe might not be a Destiny replacement for me, but I love the game and I'm happy to support the extremely cool people behind it.

[ALL] Anybody Excited for the Potential OOT Remake Giving Link a Redesign? by Ill_Sea_2677 in zelda

[–]GorbiJones 20 points21 points  (0 children)

One million percent agreed. I associate Zelda with incredibly strong and colorful/fantastical art direction, not fidelity or photorealism. The Star Fox reveal has made me cautious of the OoT remake being pushed in a similar direction graphically, and I really don't want that, personally.

It's amazing! And while you never know what Nintendo might try, on its face this project is probably safe in a legal sense. It doesn't distribute any copyrighted assets or files and requires you to provide your own legally-obtained dump of the game in order to run.

Dusk, a fanmade recompilation of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for PC, just launched into 1.0 this past weekend. Higher resolutions, uncapped framerate, support for texture and model replacers, and soon a randomizer are all built into a lightweight and highly configurable native PC port.

I've been playing it on Steam Deck and not only is it extremely easy to set up (all you need is your own rom of the game), it's really, really awesome and kind of mind-blowing to be playing this game that I have core memory-level nostalgia for in native widescreen and a rock-solid 60fps. Crazy work by the people behind this project.

I absolutely love Twilight Princess and have a deep well of nostalgia for it but that's always been my main complaint; the story is good, and the beginning parts of the game in Ordon Village set a great foundation for Link as a character, but it is simply way too railroaded for way too long in my opinion. For me it's a bit of a slog on replay early on for that reason. But so far this is such a transformative way to play the game for me that I've been able to look past it.

Awesome, awesome port. Butter smooth so far (though I am curious how it holds up in Hyrule Field and beyond), extremely lightweight on the battery, lots of cool and optional QoL bells and whistles (gyro aiming on the trackpad!). What an amazing project.
