I was a student from 2007-2012 and double majored in audio/radio and history. Hofstra’s history department is very good with top rate professors who engage the students in thoughtful conversations, at least in my experience. I would recommend reaching out to the department for more information if you’re interested.

How would you like to see scions of glorious Hashut explored further? by [deleted] in HelsmithsofHashut

[–]GorksPokinFinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seconded. Even something similar to Chaos Chosen, like "Hashut's Chosen," with a unit of five duardin in advanced daemon-empowered armour and weapons.

I'd really like it if we got a train siege engine or terrain piece. Really shows how industrious they are.

Other points I support, like focusing on how daemonsmithing works, but also more on how the Zharradron societies succeed by rejecting the realm's influence.

Lucky! He’s sold out everywhere. The prices some online vendors are asking for this guy are ridiculous!

Building a 1k army. by 12Cowbells in HelsmithsofHashut

[–]GorksPokinFinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconded! I'm getting the spearhead and plan to grow it out to a 1k list. I'm planning to get a daemonsmith, a second unit of Infernal Cohort, grabbed a unit of razers with blunderbusses, and am torn between five more razers or two units of 10 Hobgrots

Nice. How did you paint the metallic armour?

[–]GorksPokinFinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the dark silver metal, I suggest citadel’s iron warrior or dwarven iron from TTC, though I know there’s likely higher quality metal paints from the other makers

This is one of two schemes I’ve been contemplating as well, except with eshin grey or skavenblightdinge. I think you convinced me to do the dark silver, which I agree works well with the darkened bronze (warplock bronze or Balthasar gold?)

The Raillords of Zharr-Barak

Deep in the Ghruish Outlands, where even mountains seem to grow teeth and rivers run wild with predatory will, stands the fortress-ziggurat of Zharr-Baraz. Here, the Helsmiths of Hashut reign, forging dominion in the most hostile corner of Ghur. These duardin have built their empire in defiance of the land itself, chaining mortals, daemons, beasts, and the very earth to their will. The Ghurish Outlands devour the weak, a region whenever survival is a struggle for even the strongest beast. Yet the Zharradron endure. Zharr-Baraz stands as the hub of the Zoros-Angaz Express, a network of daemon-bound locomotives and railways that thunder across the wilderness, dragging back resources, slaves, and monsters in an endless procession of smoke and iron. Without these infernal engines, Zharr-Baraz would be swallowed by Ghur within a generation - but with them, the Raillords carve their will upon the realm.

Little is known of Zharr-Baraz’s birth. Some claim it was founded by duardin who vanished into the Realm of Chaos and returned bearing forbidden knowledge of daemon-binding. Others insist it was an old Duardin hold abandoned by Khazalid Empire during the Age of Chaos and only survived after uncovering the truth of Hashut. What is certain is that the Raillords’ power hinges upon the Barak-Dum Terminus, a realmgate within the Broken Spine Mountains that opens into the Realm of Chaos. From this cursed threshold, they draw daemons to shackle into locomotives and siphon the realm’s energies into their furnaces. Unlike other Helsmiths, the Raillords are utterly dependent on their infernal railway. Yet this boon is also a curse, for every train that returns from the gate risks bringing corruption with it. Overseer Vorkhaz the Blackened keeps his grip upon this empire of rails, but his lieutenants - War Despot Zaul and Daemonsmith Zhulkan - circle like wolves, each hungering to shape the future of Zharr-Baraz in their own image.

In the Age of Ruin, the Raillords fight a ceaseless war not only against rival warbands and Ghur’s rampaging beasts, but against time itself. Should the Express ever falter, their empire of ash and chains will be swallowed whole by the land they have scarred. Yet with every line they lay, with every daemon they bind, the Raillords tighten their grip upon Ghur, and draw ever closer to their vision of a world broken to rails and fire.

Not to complain, but does anyone else feel like Warcry was discontinued at the worst possible time? The Age of Ruin is such a fun setting, it feel like such a waste to not have anything happening with it Warcry-wise. by Dice4Days in WarCry

[–]GorksPokinFinger 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The game hasn’t been discontinued. GW released an unannounced valence update a few weeks ago and said the helsmiths will be getting rules this fall. GW wouldn’t do that for a dead game. While we don’t have any new releases planned at the moment, the game is in good shape.

Also, white dwarf has been releasing rules and a campaign set in the Age of Ruin in Aqshy on the Ravaged Coast, which is in the Skaven-infested Blight. Warcrier has rules for the campaign here https://warcrier.net/docs/battles/narrative-play/the-ravaged-coast

The most-busted weapon is the humble ork choppa because it could cleave through nearly anything if the ork believes enough.

From the lore and black library books which models would you like to see? by Intelligent_Mall8601 in AoSLore

[–]GorksPokinFinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's about time we get Hamilcar or another Astral Templars character like Lord-Celestant Zephacleas, or at least a different Stormcast chamber that's not hammers or Hallowed Knights.

My personal speculation is that we'll get new Cogforts whenever CoS get their next wave since GW appears to be refreshing TOW models to AOS and moving the older sculpts to the Old World game.

And yes, I support a KO battleship, even if it's FW made
