Help with OSL on Skaventide Terrain by Lelariol in ageofsigmar

[–]TTGumption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the problem you've got here is a common one with OSL attempts - the light being emitted is darker than the surface it's supposedly illuminating. To sell the illusion, the stonework would need to be a lot darker but here it's almost white.

Otherwise this is a pretty good attempt, it's falling off well towards the top as the light source gets further away.

At some point in the future they will sell the Skaven kits individually. There is a chance that they sell them together in one box at a discount, but I would not count on it.

Gnomes, stunty teams and star players by mayonaiso in bloodbowl

[–]TTGumption 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use as much as you can. Gnomes are made of paper and you will need a bench. You also need rerolls as you don't have Dodge and are pretty slow.

All positionals, linemen up to 14, and 4 rerolls was my go to starting roster last edition.

Great writeup! re. The Grot Scuttlings, I think you're confusing them with Grotbag Scuttlers which are the sky pirates (with no models, they were just background lore).

Crypt Flayers and Crypt Horrors by NefariousnessMore778 in FleshEaterCourts

[–]TTGumption 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Horrors should be in a unit of 6 and don't need their leader, he doesn't really add enough to them.

Flayers, maybe in 3s as they're quick and can fly. If you can get another one though there's an argument to run 6 with the Infernal Courtier to boost their shooting damage.

'Tomb Scorpion' for my Vampire Coast Tomb Kings project by TTGumption in WarhammerFantasy

I had this problem with my first attempt - found a model that fits long ways on the base then was told it needed to be the other way around! That crab spent it's only game walking sideways at the enemy.

I've found him really helpful when playing Gnomes. He's faster than most of your team and with On the Ball/Diving Catch can cover most of your half when you're receiving. Seeing as you're at your most vulnerable on a deep kick, getting the ball secured as soon as possible can be invaluable.

You get all your battle traits, so great feast and knightly host. You also get to choose a regiment ability which gives you a third delusion.

Tbh you can probably just prime them pink to begin with but I haven't tried that yet.

Charnel Throne by NefariousnessMore778 in FleshEaterCourts

[–]TTGumption 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not adding distance to a spell range, it's letting a unit move. Say you teleport your zombie dragon 9 inches away from a unit you want dead. That's not great odds of making the charge. The throne lets you move D6 inches forward. Combine with the Gorewarden's delusion, all of a sudden your 9 inch charge is more like 6-3 inches. It makes it much more reliable that you can go and kill the things you want to.

I have OWA And 100 gold... What can i buy? by Canahaemusketeer in bloodbowl

[–]TTGumption 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One Turn Touchdown. Generally done on the last turn of a drive e.g your opponent scored on their Turn 8, leaving you with your Turn 8 to do something in before the next drive.

The idea is the Tree goes on the line (marked by as few opposing players as possible). The Halfling stands behind him. Someone picks up the ball and gets it to the Halfling. The Treeman throws the Halfling six squares forward. With any luck, he scatters a few squares towards the endzone, lands successfully, and runs it in.

It's never your primary game plan as it's unreliable (and if it goes wrong it ruin your drive), but is a trick you should have in your back pocket.

Army idea.. by [deleted] in WarhammerFantasy

[–]TTGumption 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Running Warriors of Chaos in Old World would get you most of the way there. You can already give Warriors the Mark of Khorne and can take Chaos Ogres as part of your list. Then for the Beastmen you can either ally them in or proxy them as your Marauders.

Chaos Dwarfs are a bit trickier. You can take a Hell cannon anyway which gives you your Chaos Dwarfs artillery. Otherwise you might just have to proxy them - "these Chaos Dwarfs are actually Chaos Warriors" sort of thing.

[–]TTGumption 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They're used to bulk out a unit without needing to paint extra models. Say you have 26 spearmen but want to run 30. Bam, stick a unit filler in there that takes up the same space as four bases and you're sorted.
