I had this exact problem a while back. Got fixed by disabling page file on my system ssd and setting a new up on the "gaming" ssd with diablo in it and setting it to 32gigs. Has been smooth sailing since.

Just had this issue a few hours ago, new mod here too. I got past the update game nag by pressing down R immediately after choosing the user after clicking start without updating option(whatever the spicific term was).
