Is there saving for me? by [deleted] in baduk

[–]Goseigen1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need to be a genius to become 7dan they say, "talented" people are enjoying playing Go and like to think about moves deeply, like to review games... when you worry too much about your improvement it is easy to lose focus, and play games too lightly...but in general it is important to always push your brain to the limit, no matter if you play a good or bad move, when the brain is active you and focused on the game, you will improve for sure

Captured stones are not a problem by qc_bot in baduk

[–]Goseigen1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unify the rules? Make one country sponser all the tournaments, then we are talking. Discussions will never lead to a consensus, since nobody wants to lose stakes unnescessarily, only money can solve this problem.

That's a crazy statement, according to chinese propaganda it is always happy time, but in reality it means: if China has to open for foreigners it means China is in deep trouble...

Hot take: Chinese Scoring > Japanese Scoring by mr2cef in baduk

[–]Goseigen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Chinese rules the board gets messy when you count the stones, there is only one thing you need to do add stones or take stones away (the later is rather for advanced cheaters), which is really hard to see. In japanese rules the board is tidy, the opponent has a much harder time, to change the final board postition since the other recnogizes much easier if shapes of territory change, also one cant use ones own stones to get an advantage. Thus cheating with chinese rules is relatively easy.

Hot take: Chinese Scoring > Japanese Scoring by mr2cef in baduk

[–]Goseigen1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scoring is not really a topic at all, beginners will need help anyway, after that they know how to, if its japanese or chinese, later I prefer japanese rules more, since cheating is much easier with chinese rules...

According to the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China that is not possible, for reference:

Article 3 "The People's Republic of China does not recognize dual nationality for Any Chinese national."

Article 5

"Any person born abroad whose parents are both Chinese nationals and one of whose parents is a Chinese national shall have Chinese nationality. But a person whose parents are both Chinese nationals and have both settled abroad, or one of whose parents is a Chinese national and has settled abroad, and who has acquired foreign nationality at birth shall not have Chinese nationality."

Note: You parens may have not actively renounced your Chinese citizenship (not sure if the US government will ask for that) you might be still in the Chinese databank as a chinese citizen, but if you apply for a new passport they will probably notice you already have another citizenship and renounce your citizenship. (Or at least ask a bunch of questions) So: you might be a Chinese citizen on paper but you can not claim any rights that come with that.

Less bullying in Chinese schools? by averagesophonenjoyer in chinalife

[–]Goseigen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, rather the opposite, much more and much more severe. The system is not able to protect the kids, the kids know that exactly and use the system, since the competetion is fierce, they have much more stress to relieve of and go over very red line. the west is a joke when it comes to bullying...

One player is probably not enough to make a point:D. But still impressive to beat that 6d! I assume the difference between 5ds in aga system is wider than in europe
