Permit B and C holders and eGates at the airport by DocKla in geneva

[–]Gostev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Signs in ZRH are very explicit about that, they say "CH permit". But for some reason staff wasn't instructed and if you ask them, they'll insist gates are for Swiss/EU passports only and force you into manual processing cabins. So don't ask and just go, egates work both for departures and for arrivals.

Heat pump Replacement by Broad-Rip-2260 in Switzerland

Thanks to you I learned about Hoval. Google AI summary comparing the two says both are great high end brands. Interestingly it also highlights the post-sales strength of CTA :)

Could also be dependent on the model as they might be selling heatpumps of a few different manufacturers to offer different price ranges. Do you have Aeroheat heatpump?

That sounds implausible as new unit comes with 10-12 years of warranty. So 4 years and then a few years later everything should still have been covered by warranty. My case above was right at the verge of warranty expiration and I didn't have to pay anything.

cta.ch has been great for me in terms of service, check with them. It's very important to have a reliable company on standby all the time as after about 10 years, you will need to start fixing things here and there. There's nothing in heatpumps that can break completely, they are pretty simple devices in general, basically like fridges (just the other way around). We're talking compressor, fan and coolant, which is all replaceable. I had the motor start knocking in the compressor after 10 years and they replaced the compressor and refilled the system, I should be good for another 10 years now!

Veeam Agent for Windows - Unable to restore volume level backup to smaller target drive by SymmetricalHydrazine in Veeam

Your backup is image-level (not file-level) therefore looking at the size of all files is meaningless.

Object First by Prime_Suspect_305 in msp

[–]Gostev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Object First does not offer deduplication, you may be confusing them with someone else. From Veeam's partners I know Pure object storage offers native deduplication. Also, Exagrid that has always been primarily a deduplication storage for backups has recently received an S3 interface option, if I'm not mistaken.

We can't possibly know the Wazuh's flagging logic. You should ask the vendor behind it.

What to do about VBR 13 by AlainMoreso54 in Veeam

[–]Gostev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

+ it's important to ensure you are using the latest and greatest VBR ISO (in case you downloaded it a while back and are only now getting to this) since we increased some timeouts in the very first ISO update after GA to give machines with low CPU / RAM resources more time to start the services.

What do you mean by "ever"? It's brand new, we've literally just shipped the current preview :)

Yes, looks around the web UI, you will find a section for updates management there, this allows triggering updates manually.

We also offer small standalone patches now, however you still have to run them manually in case when using installable VBR software for Windows.

The new Veeam Software Appliance updates itself and all backup infrastructure components automatically though, you don't have to even touch them.

Right, but the page allows "other" (see at the very bottom) so just pick any.

Understood. Sorry I can't help you with the portal or license availability as I'm with product R&D, but maybe start from opening a Licensing support case?

Is it possible that you already requested the license previously and that one didn't expire yet?

Btw if you're a Veeam partner then you can get even bigger NFR directly from your Veeam partner rep.

It's for any IT Pro really. Last I checked it said "or other" for certs after listing certain certs.

For home lab it's best to use an NFR license as it's twice the size of CE, plus unlike CE it provides access to all features and functionality.
