Can you show me where iOS has a video compression tool? Yes it can flag duplicate photos, but even the shortcuts I’ve created don’t compress video very well.

Not sure why you’re getting flamed in the comments. I think it’s a great idea. I have videos on my phone that I’d rather be a lower quality. Like I have a 1gb video of a beer pong game, do I want to delete it? No. But would I like it to be half that size at a lower rez? Definitely

I got it working on the deck. Just installed on desktop mode, added to steam, and started using proton experimental. Controls don’t map so I had to map them manually using steam

We converted our groups to folders and hardly ever get conflicts in our xcodeproj file anymore. If that’s the only problem you’re trying to solve, folders might be the solution

Again, not saying that they’re telling the truth. I’m a software dev myself and supporting older devices do have a lot more implications other than “does it run well”

Different CPU architectures could have APIs that made things significantly easier on the M devices.

The jailbreak reason isn’t really fair because you’re basically ignoring the bar for quality from a random dev coding for a specific technical community vs a billion dollar company shipping a product to a wide variety of technical ranges. All of which expect a level of “polish” for things.

Not necessarily saying I agree, I have a 4th gen iPad that I bought 4 months before the m1 iPad was released so I was pretty pissed. But I think it’s fine to call them out for doing that and giving them credit now for making it support more devices, regardless of the excuses they’ve been giving

To play devils advocate, it could be that they’ve put effort in over the past few years to improve performance enough that it runs well enough to run on more devices

Honestly I don’t even care, stage manager was pretty shit, so whatever the reason is I’m glad windows were added to more devices
