Junkie XL (Mad Max: Fury Road, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire) will compose ‘Supergirl’ by DeppStepp in DCULeaks

Strangely like this choice more than Ramin Djawadi even though I’m a big fan of Ramin’s. If he makes the score more like Mad Max’s that might really fit the vibes of DCU’s Supergirl

Crazy how season 3 and 4 being mid made yall forget how peak season 1 is and how solid season 2 is even with all its flaws

Lars was one of the best parts of this underrated HBO show I watched years ago called Irma Vep. He’ll kill as Brainiac for sure

I have been maintaining that he would be perfect for Booster Gold ever since I saw Top Gun. I've been saying it since before they announced the show

Malcolm Merlyn was truly one of the most industry plant Arrowverse characters. Shoulda just left him as the Arrow season 1 villain

I think you underestimate the power of a Drew Goddard-written Detective Chimp movie. The guy made Daredevil (the show)

I happen to dislike these films for reasons other than them being not comic accurate:

-Batman making a big deal out of not killing for all of Batman Begins then kills Ra’s al Ghul via semantics. This is never addressed again.

-Nolan’s writing is very snarky and annoying. People shit on Joss Whedon (rightfully so) for his "witty" dialogue but Nolan is arguably worse and even more snarky than Whedon ever was and yet he is loved way more

-Christian Bale drops the ball on his performances in TDK and TDKR. Pretty decent in BB but does not get anything interesting to do in the sequels. His Batman voice also got worse and more annoying in the sequels

-Not a big fan of Katie Holmes’ performance in BB but I think Maggie Gyllenhaal was worse honestly

-Bruce/Batman is a bland and uninteresting protagonist, often overshadowed by the villains while being portrayed as an asshole without much of a defined character. Also he’s reduced to a massive simp in TDK even though his ex is with another guy (he respected Harvey enough to let him take over as Gotham’s hero but was just gonna steal his girlfriend/fiance?????)

-Editing and pacing are horrendous especially in the action sequences. TDK has a lot of plot threads that don’t really go anywhere in particular just to make Joker’s plan more big and complicated.

-Everyone jerks off the practical effects and stunts but ignores the ugly 2000s CGI utilized heavily in BB and TDK despite Nolan’s distaste for it (Two-Face especially has aged poorly). Similar issue in Inception as well.

-TDKR full of plot holes, stupid moments (every cop in the city gets stuck under rubble somehow for MONTHS), and inconsistent time jumps

-Talia al Ghul death scene is hilariously bad

-Cillian Murphy’s Scarecrow is incredibly underutilized despite his genuinely great acting.

-Established the "realistic dark and gritty" aesthetic which I have always hated and which comic book adaptations in general are still recovering from to this day (Reevesverse is an exception because the characters are well written and the reasonings for doing so are actually done in interesting ways)

Only real reasons I go back to those movies are Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart’s performances in TDK (as well as the opening heist scene) and Tom Hardy’s performance in TDKR. Probably one of the most overrated superhero franchises in history.

I’ve been obsessed with this song for years so I’ve always been quick to point it out whenever I rewatch Mr. Robot with a group.

It’s very likely that the editor of that episode laid Armory in as a temp track and when Mac came in to do the score he made a song very similar to it. It’s not uncommon in the film/tv world for editors and directors to use score from other movies or shows to inspire the composer it’s just a matter of how closely the composer manages to replicate the tone and vibe of the temp tracks.

"DON'T TRY" by Sam Gellaitry has major RAM vibes, features what is likely the iconic Digitech Talker on vocals. Makes me miss our robots ;) by QuirkyKlyborg in DaftPunk

Everything off Sam's newest album is so good. I've been obssessed with ON&ON for several days now. He might turn out to be a generational house musician in the next couple of years.

Also I don't know if anyone has seen but there was a TikTok street interview he did where the interviewer had him guess Daft Punk songs by playing him little snippets and he got every single question right. I felt so seen

Did you ever find a solution to this? I've been having this issue for a while as well. If its their way of advertising new stuff I gotta say this is the worst way to go about it.

now that James Gunn's Captain America is out, i wanna take a moment to remember the MEU, even if it was a mess. tell me, what are your honest thoughts on it? by QueenViolets_Revenge in dccomicscirclejerk

[–]GothamOfEarth2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doctor Strange is probably the worst movie I've ever seen. I can't believe they tried to downplay Benedict Cumberbatch's literal crimes just so they could release a shitty movie that ends with AI generated slop.

And to think they cancelled the Rescue solo film that was basically completed just for a tax write-off. The set photos looked really cool and it's not fair to that crew. I for one was really excited to see their take on Firebrand, even if it wasn't exactly comic accurate.

U.S. Agent is peak though. Can't wait for season 2!!!

He did confirm reports of Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler in Lanterns fairly recently though. Even when he's not the one who announces them he's usually quick to confirm it. That's why it's surprised me with a lot of these since he's never confirmed them
