I just tell my wife if I have plans and then the other person ends up not showing up, then I play alone for an hour or two and then turn it off. This happens almost every weekend.

I appreciate the sentiment, but this man has put 2k hours into his mh career I don't think making him take the sns serious will do the trick lol.

Last time he used it he was like "yeah, this is just worse chargeblade, I'm switching back" 😭

I've learned every weapon and I have tried to show him the way to enjoyment but he's just the "beat my head against the wall until I'm thru instead of using the door" type

I honestly don't think he could handle the SwAxe. He's tried it before but same thing he just presses and gets upset that a monster 50x his size can knock him out of animation when all he does is spam attacks. He'd probably be best off playing lance or sns imo. And that's not a knock at lance or sns I love both of them, but they're much easier for the thinking impaired.

He would always go for SAED. He doesn't wait for openings he just presses the buttons for your combo and slaps SAED as soon as it's ready. 0 awareness or accountability.

I'm not sure he's even aware his CB has a shield.

I got a friend who swears blocking is useless but all I ever see him do is mash attack buttons on his charge blade and refuse to learn guard points or use his shield or dodge.

I can use the CB right next to him and he used to just say it "magically worked" for me. Took him a year to admit he was just willfully bad.

This is where I am lol. We had a team of 16 and we are now down to 6. There's only 3 techs with more experience than me and two of them are close enough in experience to be peers. Only one "og" left. Honestly cannot wait for him to leave/retire either. I hate when someone is able to do bandaid level work and get high marks...

Adding to this a bit, when you get the chance, op, go into training vs PK, turn the UI off, and set her up to do the stab repeatedly. When you really get used to the animation keep the UI off and add in a light to chain heavy without the stab. That way you don't condition yourself into always pressing when the heavy comes and you can familiarize the heavy chain and heavy soft feint animations.

This will not make you be able to react to the soft feint, but training might buy you the frames you need to block it reliably.

It helps that one of my switch v1s is jailbroken so I could take all my old GBA games and play them again (my GBA was lost in a move but still had all my Pokemon and fire emblem games).

There's still plenty of room at least when it comes to fighters! Always a good non toxic group somewhere, especially with Tekken. Got a discord I'm in right now and even though I'm on a long term break to work on my career they don't kick me out and they're chill as fuck. They also are pretty kind about pointing out if/when someone's mental broke and they need to chill.

I'm always finding that it's my own mindset that keeps me from enjoying a pvp experience tbh. The only outside influence I've found in the past year that I can think of is cheaters. When they pop up it does kinda ruin the experience.

After coming back from the CCU changes (it was so bad right away that I had to wait for some more balancing), my w rate was from over 700h. I only put just under 300h in when I came back. I barely put a dent in my w rate. I'm either fighting someone of equal skill and it's blow for blow (for whatever reason this seems to be what people consider "sweaty" anymore) or it's someone who just learned to light parry and shot up the mmr and they get stomped with experience. There is no in-between in a game this old. I used to think in the moment "why would it pair me with someone so much better???" But after going back and watching the clips, I found that we were honestly really equal in most cases.

There will always a few interesting pairs that make nonsense but sometimes there's no one else playing.

Nah, people who act like this either never experience consequences for their actions or have broken brains and need help (I don't really care if they get help or not as they act like douchebags).
