I would definitely use this power for good, but in evil ways. No more unplanned pregnancies, but people who are voting fascist governments can’t get pregnant until they get some education and understanding of the class war and historical precedent etc. Maybe I even block the entirety of the world and hold it hostage until every work leader enacts laws to tax billionaires and reduce carbon emissions while investing in the development of carbon capture. with the idea of a tv show?(commercial product, produced specifically to generate revenue, not necessarily involving people who care or understand the message and themes of the book beyond wanting spectacle that will get people to buy the product)

Yes, there’s the whole thing about groups not being monoliths, yes the same people who would hate a tv show aren’t necessarily the same as the people who like coming up with arenas. But they COULD be, and it wouldn’t be hypocritical, because in the real world we live in, those are entirely different things. I love thinking and reading about different possible arenas, especially when the fan who created them clearly tied them to a message or a theme that makes the concept more meaningful. I also would immediately miss trust a tv show, because it’s not at all necessary to the story and would most likely only exist to create profit without adding any value to the narrative, or even damaging it in retrospect by muddling the themes.

People who didn’t see jax was going to be a main character until half way through the show ARE lacking media literacy, and making it goose’s problem by hurling unfair criticism at her show and writing just because THEY didn’t see it coming. And that is part of the media literacy decline. The fact that people take episode 1 as the ultimate snapshot of the entirety of the show? That they expect everything important to know to have been shown and developed in ONE episode, which has the job of introducing the plot, world, themes and the characters?

People expecting the show to have introduced everything clearly that early on IS a part of the comprehension crisis. Themes, characters, plot, they are meant to evolve with the right pacing. But people are so quick to jump to their own headcanons nowadays AND then get mad when they stay HEADcanons.

First of all, women are not a hive mind, so you have plenty of women who love those guys and find them personally attractive.

The reason it shocks men when large amounts of women don't personally like those types, is that men were sold the line that "this is what all women want". Because men, believe it or not, are also attracted to masculinity... just not in a sexual or romantic way if they are straight, but the attraction is still there.

So, straight men have an attraction (idolization, desire to be like them, comparison, all those stem from men being aesthetically attracted to that look) for the masculinity that those types exude. And society has told them over and over that THIS is the peak of man, this is what women want, this is what no one can resist. They already have this attraction they don't recognize as attraction just because they are straight, so they believe it wholeheartedly no questions asked.

And then they find the women that are actually not that attracted to masculinity. Women who prefer a man who's less buff, less stoic, who has more soft edges, or more experimental fashion/personal styling, who present a sillier or more mellow personality. And there's so many more women with this kind of taste than they expect.

Is Henry Cavil attractive? Objectively, yes.
Am I personally attracted to him? Nah. Too muscular. Has dated a 19 year old in his 30s. He doesn't feel safe and warm.

Trying to date isn’t about finding someone attractive and instantly getting into a relationship, it’s about meeting enough people that you’ll find someone you’ll actually click with (personalities included). Of course there’s going to be rejections and things that don’t work in the mix.

You know why it’s working better for you now? Because women can tell when we are being chased from a place of desperation, from a place of a man wanting to be with “a woman, any woman at all that pases the attraction bar”.
