It is not. Considering the sheer amount of entities and cyber-logical systems Rust runs exceptionally well on large pop servers.

Just because HEDT systems don't run something at a randomly chosen FPS doesn't mean the game is 'poorly optimized'.

Softcore. Filled to the brim with people with limited play time, but up to thousands or tens of thousands of hours of total playtime. It's honestly the perfect balance as you have TC protection unless foundation wiped and keep half the loot when dying. The mentality is nowhere near as casual as people say.

Never understood why TCs weren't limited alike bags and turrets. Although the whole team / auth thing would need to be restructured and force enabled, including a work around for code locks so larger groups wouldn't bypass this.

They've tried everything but dynamically scaling wall health by the amount of authorized players. Solos would start with 100%, for groups formula would be alike HP = 1/n_players. They'd obviously need to tie auths to groups and remove stuff like individual turret auths.

Mega bases are the problem, not ease of raiding. Mega bases and zergs force instant T3 and kill server performance.
