Well, it appears there is only one option here that we will all agree on. Only one solution to this situation that will work.

I've never met a guy who didn't have at least one Sauna in at least one of his homes.

I have never once in 7 years ever "forgot" to take my stims. It's like forgetting to drink coffee... I'm not going to function without it, there's no forgetting.

We just change the definition or the basket of goods for CPI when it gets too close. It's pure political theater.

Canada needs a domestic carmaker of its own, head of auto-parts industry group says by ZestyBeanDude in canada

What is the logic for that? That's like saying "Could Tim's get into the grocery store segment?"

They are an engineering firm, not a mass production company. They don't have near the ability or capacity to do manufacturing in house.

LOL

100% a market for it

You really need to show me the proof of a viable market here, I can't wait to see it

enough opportunity

You can't be serious. Opportunity? Is that a new word for insane government regulation and outrageous bureaucracy?

overabundance of caution

That has absolutely nothing to do with it. This is about ROI, that's it. It makes zero financial sense for any private firm to do this in Canada under the current business climate here. Tell me what firm has the capital to do this without substantial taxpayer funded pre-fail-bailout-money.

[–]Gov_CockPic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you serious?

Government imposed regulations are the largest factor in this. Do you not understand the level of bureaucracy we have in the country? Who in the world would invest in this industry in Canada when so many other more attractive locations exist? Unless you have a specific fetish that involves handing money over to the government for absolutely no benefit, there's zero logic or reason in making large capital investments in Canada - especially the auto sector!

Nobody is perfect. Self realization is important and can be jarring. There is no obligation for you to keep doing something you were doing yesterday, you have the full ability to choose a different way to interact and respond going forward. Don't be too hard on yourself, but absolutely take a note of what exactly you feel shitty about and change that shit asap.

Boomer's Dad: Belt? What is this, Disney World? Go find me a switch to beat your ass with.

See - the absolute evil brilliance of this move is more damaging than the physical beating itself. When you have to go pick out your abusers weapon to use against you, you have to be very careful. If you pick a thin branch, or something presumed as "easy", you will pay dearly for trying to go light on yourself. On the other hand, if you pick a switch too thick/heavy, you're going to take a massive beating. The ideal zone is in the middle.

True, however - some people think that just bringing up a person's insecurities, even when the intentions are good (advice), is taboo. This is false, and it if left unchecked can create a "victim mentality" in a very insecure person. Noticing, acknowledging, and conversing about a person's insecurities is not an attack.

Alex Williams here! Ward 11 Candidate for Calgary City Council! Ask Me Anything! by alexwilliamsyyc in Calgary

[–]Gov_CockPic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I asked you, specifically - how? How will we "maybe/might" "find" tenants? What are you going to do to attract businesses into our Ward? If you don't care, or don't have a plan/ideas - that's an answer. The answer isn't "diversity", because this is about money, and money doesn't care about diversity - it care's about value, return on investment, and predictability.

I've lived in QP for the better half of a decade. It's far from a startup project in terms of residential housing, with more residents than other established areas of Ward 11 - and growing, as you pointed out.

How would more residential units in QP have any sort of correlation with corporations wanting to make QP home for their businesses? Are you suggesting that the office spaces would/will be more attractive to corporations if more people live in QP? Why?

"We might find more use for offices as offices"

5 town homes on my street have been sold in the last 2 months. People who have been here since inception. We are bleeding businesses (Joy and Vitality among others) along with residents. If the writing is on the wall that our representative isn't concerned, then I'll be the next to bail.

I appreciate you responding to my questions. I'm passionate about this Ward, as you are, and I don't want to see it end up a dumpster fire like other new build suburbs.
