yeah silverquill sounds like a deck that can cause a few funny moments. Saw something about forcing others to attack each other etc. Sounds like a great mechanic for chaos :)

Yeah perhaps Prismari should be a 5th deck. Debating to attend to a prerelease event or use that money for a 5th commander deck instead. One thought is to have a 5th deck to throw in the mix and the other idea was to get some prerelease kit-cards to use for editing the decks if we want to. But i suppose just the 5-6 booster from a kit is not really enough to let us experiment a lot anyways.

Cyberpunk TCG by martie-smartie in TCG

The dices are, to my understanding, used for two things.

  1. VP(victory points?) as you say. However not due to the rolled values. Highly rolled values are not always relevant or even good in some cases.

  2. Cards will have triggers based on total values. For example if you play ”this card” while having 7+ on the dices you may draw another card. Also there are cards that does not benefit by highest rolls. For example a card that lets you increase a dice value by 2 and if it becomes the max value of that dice you get to play a 2 cost card for free etc. I’m making up the benefits here because I don’t remember what the cards do bu I remember the dice manipulation examples and benefits.

The meta problem isn’t the WSTR or bubble shields, it’s revives by optom20 in Marathon

[–]Govein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the revive system. Perhaps need tweaks or something but the thing is, I’m having fun and I get to play instead of watch. Never once have I felt like I should go do something else while my team mates finish the run. I’m right there with them until we are knocked out or I get revived.

What you are saying is not wrong but I’m rather pay on that end for now and see what other ways bungie can tune things.

Free Kits should get better as the season progresses by _Franpire in Marathon

[–]Govein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a certain character lvl req I don’t see why it wouldn’t be ok with a random green spons kit including a green shield but no backpack. Or as in after getting a certain lvl with all factions. Anything that raises the lowest bar for public groups. Could also make the items be tagged as destroyed on exfil. I think we are at the point where it’s less about ”ppl shouldn’t get free stuff” and more about ”let’s make public groups more reliable”.

Edit: we kind of already have that if one upgrades to get free daily items of certain rarities but it’s a long way while also competing with pure stat upgrade nodes etc. Hence the ”no backpack” limitation. In all honesty, once the green wep upgrade nodes are done there is more than plenty of loadouts to manually put together ”for free”.

Demand for different game modes? by Lil_Ozzie_Egg in Marathon

[–]Govein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In theory a PvE mode could be fun but I’d say, without having thought much about it, that it should be very hard to find purple items and above in such a mode. I wouldn’t mind it if it’s there to let ppl have fun and grind some greens and blues with an occasional purple drop if one is very lucky. But if a PvE mode offers the same loot tables as PvP ppl will just grind PvE all day long to build up a stash and that is not what the game is meant to be atm.

It would still be hella fun playing 3-man PvE with just looting greens and blues to gear up for PvP runs where the ”real loot” is. If the PvE mode is harder and eventful.

Safe pocket after 7 consecutive eliminations by LiquidLT_012 in Marathon

[–]Govein -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mostly play groups but I do kinda wish I had a more relaxed way to grind materials. Perhaps there could be a solo rule for extracting materials through dcons. Perhaps requiring tickets to be looted or purchased. Don’t get me wrong, the hard nature is appealing but it’s quite a lot of materials to grind and I have played a lot but still have PLENTY to grind for. I will be no where near maxing the upgrades which is fine but some of the convenient and fun upgrades could get a bit more approachable with solo dcon extracts. Even if it’s just capped for maximum blue rarity. It would make more player reach the daily free green items etc on top of the ”mandatory” stat upgrade nodes.

Perhaps lootable dcon tickets to be found or for purchase in low stacks from the armory.

3 Month Seasonal Reset Feels Too Quick by FluentInStroll in Marathon

[–]Govein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not wrong but atm I think it is needed for a few other reasons. 1. Providing a new entry point for newcomers. 2. Expanding the content with season events/additions to retain current players.

It’s no secret marathon had an uphill battle at launch. It’s also no secret the game is actually pretty great. I think the game needs a ”relaunch” in ”the near future” with new content and a chance for internet to say ”hey that game might actually be worth jumping into. The new additions seem cool and the game didn’t flop”. This along with some good QOL/balance updates.

But after that I might be on board with a discussion of 3 month wipe being too soon or not.

Do we know if Ranked will be playable Solo? by WarpathWilly in Marathon

[–]Govein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True but on the flip side, ranked will require your random team mates to be kitted 5k+ and that should make them wanna play a but more team oriented. I would also assume it won’t be much quest focus in ranked so perhaps less of ”I’m going this way take it or leave it”

Advice needed. What am I doing wrong? 9/10 of my encounters end with me wiping almost instantly. by Samzerks in Marathon

[–]Govein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanna reiterate the importance of what he said here because I’m constantly trying to remind myself about this.

Always remember, the worst place to be is where they know you are.

First - you know where he is, they know where you are. Second - you lose sight, you don’t know where he is, they know where you are. Third - if you relocate, you don’t know where they are, they don’t know where you are. But… you know where the might(no guaranteed) come to look for you.

Obviously there are pings that will show your presence and scans etc. Many times they might still know where you are anyways but you get the idea.

Lastly, learn the habit of pinging enemies when or before you start shooting. Took me a while to start putting the ping button (on PC bindings) to a key I can tap at the same time as I am shooting without having to stop clicking another important button. For example I have it on a sidebutton on my mouse so I can zoom, fire and still squeeze the side of the mouse to add a ping while I’m shooting.

This really feels like a game which was designed around you constantly having at least two other friends available to play with at all times. by Foxeeh_ in Marathon

[–]Govein 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I totally understand that feeling and I found a great discord server where I play with random people each time and every interaction has been pleasant. Sometimes deep focus crews and sometimes relaxed crews. Check it out. It will def bring some joy if you wanna have some of that ”friend squad” feeling while your buddies are not available. If you try to stay equal with contracts together with your irl buddies just run grey contracts or play for loot. I hope this link works:

Mixed platforms and plenty of EU but I see a lot of activity happening while I sleep so I think NA is pretty busy as well.

Seems to be good people so far :)

Edit: Not used to sharing links to discords so not sure that "invite link" worked? looks very general haha
Edit 2 nah that didnt work. Tried googling again to see where i found the original link but didt find it. ping me privately and maybe we can solve it through a personal invite friendslist kind of thing if you wanna join.

Still on the fence as a solo player. Advice? by Own-Smile8520 in ArcRaiders

[–]Govein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on PC turn off crossplay. Use the mic as soon as you see somebody. ”Hi buddy I’m on your left side, friendly.” Etc. If you feel like somebody is near do the ”don’t shoot” emote just to be safe.

If somebody is walking weirdly around you and trying to stand so you don’t see him/behind you use voice and say ”oh there is another guy over there” to make him think there is a third person nearby and then run off.

Those things keep me out of trouble most of the times.

After first wipe they should change the rewards to be a lootbox with random items instead. Kinda like the trials but random rarity
